  Normally I would not respond to a review but when a person who so rarely steps foot in the school that the instructors don't know who he is, I feel a need to respond. This person did not give constructive criticisms, he gave insults. Which will not be tolerated. Parents and students know their input is welcome.
  He was not treated unfairly. He has not paid for the classes the proclaims to and was refunded for unused classes for this month.
  They were at no time yelled at nor did we do anything in front of students, like he did.
  He says this was not their first school. I'm guessing the problems he has been having have been following him.
  We have 22 positive reviews on the Internet, you can figure this one out for yourselves.
  Btw, there was no email sent to the entire student body. There was, in fact, an email sent to the demo team letting them know they would have to redo their routines.

  My children went here for over a year. Started with a trial class seemed ok, pretty traditional. But as time progressed, we noticed they were lacking in classroom consistency, structure, technique correction, and a few other areas. This resulted in way too many lectures that often would last 15-25 minutes of a 60 minute class. Many lectures were insulting to parents and students, as the instructors were constantly comparing other children, not just mine, to their own. Actually had the nerve to tell kids that they could not do anything but martial arts if they wanted to be any good in one sentence, and then boasted about their own daughter and grandson doing multiple sports and activities- but they were different and that most kids can't handle doing multiple activities well. We addressed our concerns in a formal email and received a vague email in return about how we haven't been with them long enough to know how it works. Keep in mind this was not the first school our kids attended, the only reason we switched from the other one was because they used weapons in all of the forms and I didn't think the lower belt kids were ready for that which is how we ended up at Xcel.
  Before our contract is up we are required to give notice so we did. As soon as we did, the owners sent an email out telling everyone we quit and that we didn't know how to make a commitment. So i asked the owner in private why she would do that before we actually spoke about the email and again pointed out our concerns about class and instruction and this conversation was apparently taken offensively. I say this because the next day when my wife showed up for class that we had already paid for, she was instructed that we were no longer welcome and had to leave immediately which I felt was very unprofessional. They clearly don't care what people think about them or about the kids whose feelings were just destroyed because they were under the impression as were we that they still had 5 weeks of class left. I am really upset about the whole situation. I hope this review helps someone so they don't waste as much money as we did. There are many great schools out there so please do better research than I did in the beginning is all i ask.

  I signed up my daughter and son thinking this would be a fun thing to do for a while. They have gained so much! their co-ordination has improved and even better than that, their confidence has gotten better. I would recommend this to anyone!

  I attended as a student in the past. I made great friends, the atmosphere is kind and everyone treats you like family. The masters are strict but kind and get get the best out of everyone. My biggest regret is leaving.

  Our son has attended Xcel since October 2013. We're pleased with our sons progress. The atmosphere is great. Very family oriented!
