This place is trendy and has a large selection of sausage and beer. They have chicken and non meat dogs too, I usually get the Chicken Apple. The staff is chill and nice. The fries are very good. The line is probably shorter than it looks. You order first then go find a seat in a large communal seating area. You can draw on the paper that tops the large tables with the provided crayons. Good times.
What a great first experience here! My fiance threw a surprise party for me and the staff and bar could not have been more accomodating. No charge to reserve a table, took the cake early and held it for us in the fridgethey even found us a candle to light! They were super laid back and fun and the beer was exactly what you want out of a German beer garden. We will be back for sure.
Okay, so seriously. I was at first disappointed because I walked in and see this little counter and my options are sausage, sausage, sausage and beer. My husband and kids look at me funny for bringing them here, but we all decided to try it anyhow.
Let me tell you- best damn sausage place!!! After we ordered, the last directed us next door to the OTHER SIDE OF THE STORE. It was awesome! Like a brewhouse hall in a viking movie. The buns they serve the sausage in are RIDICULOUS GOOD! I could eat them with nothing! We ordered 3 different types of sausages and they all had very distinct flavors and all of them were delicious! They actually had bottled specialty sodas which were delicious. It has a fun atmosphere and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience!
The interior is great — open/airy, with abundant window light, plus a little covered patio section that gets plenty of light and air. The decor is pretty unique — lots of wood, steel, and angles — and even when there are plenty of people, it still doesn't feel crowded.
The brats are tasty of course, as are the fries. All around, just a really solid spot to go for some casual eating and daydrinking.
Lots of choice for vegetarians and non vegetarians alike. The drinks menu has more items than the food menu, and there was even a rather long list of non-alcoholic beverages. We picked a variety of novelty sodas and were not disappointed. I went with my kids and it wasn't a terrible experience! Even at a hip restaurant in Venice! The dining room is set up like a biergarten, and there was fairly loud music, so my kids' noise wasn't totally out of place, as I had feared. The tables were even covered in butcher paper and there were crayons around, so they had something to do while we waited for our food to be brought out. But it doesn't look like a "kid friendly" restaurant that's all gimmicky with balloons and a tiny plastic play structure. Just fun, and not not kid friendly. Great place whether you bring kids or not.
As with the Wurstküche in Little Tokyo, the atmosphere here can range from relaxed hangout during the day to LOUD bar scene at night. Choose your time of arrival depending on which you prefer.
The sausages are generally top-notch; the Filipino Maharlika has a nice sweetness to it that goes well with sauerkraut and the various mustards hanging out on the tables. The frites might well be the star of the food show here, though. Supremely crispy with fluffy interior. It's hard for me to stray from the curry ketchup dipping sauce, but maybe you'll want more variety than I.
Wonderful selection of unique meats for their wieners. Lots of mustard options. Extensive beer selection that is sure to please the hipsteriest of hipsters. And if you like to draw, they provide crayons for their paper-covered tables. I love it here.
Fun dive bar with great craft beer selection. Food is all German sausages and family style seating on long benches. We went on a Friday night and there was a good DJ spinning tunes.
This place is awesome. I am so glad that they opened one on the westside. They have an assortment of sausages, everything from vegetarian and gluten free to full meat. Another fun thing about this place is the beer on tap. They have an assortment of Belgian Beers on tap to choose from. When you walk around the corner from ordering, you walk into a giant hall that has a bar in it and lots of very long tables for you to sit. This is great because you share the space and it feels like a community where you would talk to people you normally wouldn't. Come down and check it out for yourself, you will not be disappointed!
Always a winner if you're in the mood for good dogs, just-right fries and an extensive beer list. Seating is at long, communal tables like the original downtown location and there is a little outdoor patio (was perfect for a little birthday gathering). Kids fit right in too so bring the family!
The next best thing to eating their delicious sausages (Thai is my FAV) with a side of their freshly hot fries is grilling their sausages from the comfort of your own BBQ! Wait, you can do BOTH by always leaving your lunch/dinner w/ a few raw choices tucked under your arm. Planning makes for a delicious dinner at home.
Ordered the Chicken Burger. Yum! It was moist and perfectly cooked. Their slaw was good too. Awesome customer service is always a plus and they had it too! Thank you for cooking my burger and having EXCELLENT customer service! You guys were awesome!
Super Yummy Fries. Splurge on the truffle oil makes the fries even tastier not overpowering.
Not a fan of the veggie sausages. Thought they were dry and tough.
Did take out. Fries were HOT and crispy when I got home (only a short ride) and well worth a repeat trip on their own.
Will have to eat in and enjoy a beverage!
Small place- cash only- but delicious! The guy working behind the counter is pretty awesome, too. There is a beer bar next door you can take the sausage into as well, given the limited amount of seats in this place. I had the boar sausage and it was great! Very simple yet delicious. Decently priced, too.
