Could become awesome destination place to visit with the right investment and development. Under developed but worth seeing. You will need at least hiking boots and flash lights. PS don't forget the TP

We had a great time in the cave. The owner is very nice and charges $8/person. You can stay in as long as you'd like. We spent about 5 hours inside and saw many beautiful formations. Or you can do a guided tour with one of the local rafting companies, these cost extra. It's pretty easy to navigate but very slick. I suggest boots with a soft rubber tread. A rope would be handy in a few spots.

The most difficult obstacle is finding it. Last time I went, GPS still hadn't figured out how to direct one to the correct address. For those successful, however, Worley's Cave satisfies. Regardless of one's caving skills and experience (somehow it's easy yet hard enough), Worley's is worth it. As with any natural cave, do not underestimate it - be equipped with helmet, light (and back-up light), food, water, first aid kit and footwear designed for rocky, muddy, uneven & sometimes slick surfaces. Though Worley's is the longest known cave in east-Tennessee, it's not a complex cave & can be navigated without too much difficulty. Most known caves have been heavily vandalized (graffiti, broken formations, etc.). Not so much with Worley's & compliments to the diligent efforts by ownership and responsible cavers.

Real caving experience. Plan for 3 hours of getting dirty and wet crawling around and exploring! Tour guides made it a safe and learning experience

I love this place because it is a wild cave, as opposed to a commercial one. You need a guide to go through Worleys cave and there are number of companies locally that will take you. As with all caves, you want to be respectful of the environment and be safe.

We booked this thru USA Raft and they exceeded our expectations! The guide they assigned us was Rachel Conde. She is a ETSU geology grad and has been in this cave over 200 times and helped map it while earning her degree. She is a wealth of knowledge and experience. I was concerned taking my girls (13,11,8) over 2 miles deep in a cave but felt very relaxed within a just a few minutes of meeting her. This is a serious adventure Not for the weak willed or claustrophobic. There is a LOT of climbing and crawling in tight spaces (I was sore for 3 days!). We spent over 4 hours in the cave and at no time was it boring. We walked half a mile thru an underground river and used a rope to climb up thru the levels of the cave. We crawled 40' sideways thru small gaps in the rock to get to cathedral sized chambers with beautiful million year old formations. The local history of the cave is amazing.
It was simply AWESOME and we will never forget it.response / report this review
