I just had a truly unacceptable Christmas Eve dinner at The Wine Cask with my family. I've eaten here a few times over the years and it's always been at least good (hence 2 stars), if a little uninspiring. Tonight was just a comedy of errors. The service was ok - until our server whacked my dad in the head with a plate. But that's forgivable - it was an accident. My steak, served as the second of two prix-fixe courses, was not. It was ordered medium-rare, but came well-done on one end and nearly raw on the other. I complained. They offered to "put it back in the pan for a minute."
No. I don't think so.
I was then told it had been taken off our check. When the check arrived, only 25% of my meal - not our meal - had been removed. I was very polite, left a standard tip and didn't disrupt anyone else's holiday, but this was really awful. I'll never go back.
Lovely tasty meal. Highly recommend the scallops. They were presented with crisp sweet corn, peppers and potato au gratin.
Cozy & Romantic. This place is awesome and the staff is AMAZING.
Very elegant restaurant. Good service and the food is perfect.
Terrific ambience, toughest lamb tenderloin I've ever been served.
This place has awesome food! We stopped for dinner on our trip to Santa Barbara and came back again the next day for lunch because it was so good. Tried the scallop for dinner and came back for the Wine Cask Burger. They also have a nice selection of wine and beer. Services are excellent and the servers are very friendly. Highly recommended if you are ever in the area.
Very nice restaurant and wine tasting bar. Was there for a wedding reception. Great wine and beer selection. Appetizers were good. Employees were friendly and professional. Was very disappointed in the main meal. Had a Grilled New York Strip Steak. The steak was horrible. Two others at our table also had the steak and it was left uneaten on the plates as mine was. The desert Chocolate Chip Pie was hard as a rock. Hope the bride and groom didn't pay too much.
Great atmosphere. Dinner was excellent. Extensive wine, liquor and beer menu. (Not just for your wine loving wife) Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Ordered the oyster starter, octopus 2nd course was great. Ordered the duck entree (not as good as my favorite place but still good)
The Wine Cask is a beautiful restaurant, nice ambiance, good food, and great service. It made our little wedding party a very nice & elegant event. Everything turned out lovely and we are so happy. I also very much appreciated all the contact and reassurances from Jennifer & Sarah. Our server was wonderful too! Thank you again.
