My boyfriend, dog and I lived here for two and a half years and it was great. We only moved because we bought a house. The Windsor staff are super helpful and were available to help with even minor problems during off-hours (like a lock-out late on Christmas eve). Utility bills are very low and the amenities are amazing. When we were apartment hunting, our 2 bedroom in MG was the same or LOWER than the traditional 3-family, all-one-floor Somerville & Cambridge apartments that have zero amenities & high utilities. We made many life-long friends in the complex and you can't beat living right on the community path. I highly recommend living here and please feel free to reach out with any questions! Oh and did I mention the shuttle to Davis Sq. in the winter?!?

Wonderful apartment complex, few times we needed repairs and they immediately fixed our appliances. Staff were always friendly. Also, ignore Lauren Alarie's post I'm guessing Maxwell's told her the bike path would be complete on time, but it's pretty common for construction projects to take longer than planned.

I came upon this review section and I just have to write my own review for this property. My roommate and I are one of the first adopter of this complex. We just renewed our lease for another year. The first year experience has being nothing but awesome. We have no problem with the management team at all. I have rented other "luxury apartment" in Cambridge and the management team at Maxwell's Green is hands down the best I have encountered.

The manager is always looking for ways to improve tenants experience and benefits. From free coffee/tea that others mentioned to community events at the center green area. During the winter period, they also offer free shuttle bus to and from Davis Square. The staffs are also extremely helpful and responsive. All the maintenance calls are taking care of right away and I have yet to have any issue lingering with my apartment. They also take time to get to know you so they actually know you by name. This is also a very difference I have come to know from other "luxury apartments" in the area which they barely interact with you, if not at all.

In short, this is the BEST living experience I have so far in Boston area and I have been renting the so called "Luxury apartment" for a while which none has come close to as luxury as what we have gotten from Maxwell's Green.

The management and owners of this apartment complex are a total nightmare. My boyfriend submitted a complaint about one of the owners being rude to us in the common area a few MONTHS ago and just today while I was walking my dog behind the complex (the lease was amended after we moved that disallowed dogs in the open center grassy area), that same owner came up to me and confronted me about it! There was no one around and I'm walking down the still unfinished bike path (was told it'd be finished by December when we first moved in) and this creep gets in my face about how he lives here too and only had that one party in the common area. Not sure how that is a defense to be rude to residents, but on that same note, if you live here this CREEP will be your neighbor!!

They've let contractors into our apartment even though we explicitly told them they do not have permission to enter since we would not be home and no one from the leasing office thought it might be a good idea to escort these strangers through our home.

They've held onto packages that they SWORE were not delivered for SIX MONTHS!! You'll be lucky if the manager stays until their posted office hours to pick up your package anyway.

They've made monthly changes to the lease that they just slide under your door for you to accept the changes and sign. (What's the point of signing a leasing agreement in the first place??)

I guess "luxury living" means getting intimidated and pushed around by management and owners when you make a complaint about the place you pay way too much to live in in the first place. We've already found a new apartment and are moving out ASAP!!

Don't be sucked in by the beautiful new buildings, brand new appliances and all the marketing lies they tell you to get you to sign their lease (they're going to change it after you move in anyway!) DO NOT LIVE HERE!!

This review is from a current tenant. My girlfriend, our dog, and I have been living at Maxwell's Green since August. We were attracted to the complex due to their lack of breed restrictions in regards to dogs.

While this is why we moved here initially, the complex also boasts great amenities. There is a community space with a nice pool table, a full kitchen, and a large table for gatherings. There is a gym and a theater room. All of this comes at a large rental price.

Maintenance is constantly entering our apartment. They refuse to give reasons and constantly inconvenience me while I am working from home. They also make it very stressful for my dog to have strangers constantly entering our home.

Since we moved in, the staff at the management office has been very uninformed and had a general lack of care for the residents. MG is marketed as a green living environment. However, there is so much waste in regards to electricity simply to sell the apartments. Lights and TVs are left on all night. Bike racks are promoted for those who enjoy taking the T. However, if you do not pay for underground parking, enjoy carrying your bike down 2 sets of stairs and up over a ledge to bring your bike back to the racks since they will not issue a garage door opener.

Prepare to flood your email inbox with messages regarding parking bans and then have printed emails around the building posted around the buildings for weeks with the same notice. If you are looking to spend $2500 on a one bedroom college dorm, this may be the place for you.

We have had padding in the elevators intended for moving since August and it is now mid February. An adoption event for cats occurred where shelter cats were put on the kitchen counter in the amenity center. The complex manager simply walked around taking pictures without asking to have the cats put somewhere food would not be served.

The ipod dock was broken for weeks in the yoga studio despite being informed of the issue. The cleaning agents for the gym equipment has also been out for weeks. The building owner regularly has private parties which keeps you from renting out the amenity center despite other residents encouraging building relationships by having open gatherings.

These are a few issues that raise concern but my biggest complaint is the lack of response from the management office. If they do not have an answer for you regarding an issue, they will completely ignore you. As a current resident, I have a lot of regret. You should not be paying this much to be treated this poorly.

It seems that a lot of these past reviews are from people who just went on a tour of the complex. During my tour, we were shown a demo unit. We decided to take a unit with the exact floor plan on the first floor. When we came to move in, it turned out that it was a completely different floor plan. No one knew how to help us and we were blamed for the issue. We ended up moving to a more expensive apartment on a different floor just to have the same floor plan. It is a general practice to make the tenants feel responsible for issues caused by management's lack of cohesion.
