We have been fighting with Whitworth for 10 months to get PRE-closing walk through issues taken care of!! (Meadows)
1) The biggest issue is the unprofessional paint and trim finish! We have excess "knockdown" (texture) on wall ceiling transitions throughout the house. Wall paint color is on ceiling throughout the house. Trim miter cuts do not line up and look unprofessional.
2) Main bathroom tub/shower insert was not installed correctly and was "patched" with excess spackle.
4) All window sills were over painted, and deep brush strokes left behind.
3) Carpet/Tile transitions are causing carpet to tear. VERY cheap padding used under carpet which accelerates wear.
4) All exterior access doors do not seal and daylight can be seen.
5). Refrigerator door was dented during installation and has yet to be fixed.
New Issue: Master bath shower wall is bowing, causing the 18 x 18 tiles to start moving. Corner grout is falling out daily.
ALL of these issues were pointed out during our pre-closing walk-throughs (week of Feb 28 2014).
We have made multiple requests, filed their paperwork, called the main office, talked to Construction Superintendent (said "it's not my problem now, you closed") and Warranty worker.
We have only had 4 issues (not listed here) fixed. (a few trim pieces, shower temp reversed, outside trim falling off, missing grout under oven).
This is very poor quality building, and it is not limited to our house. There are major issues with neighboring houses too.
They make the houses fancy on the outside, but the quality of materials, workmanship, and customer service is beyond poor. (Cheapest windows, no insulation on interior walls, cheap carpet padding, etc.)
The biggest problem is Whitworth's LACK of customer service after the closing, they just don't care, and have an excuse for every request.
If you think I'm just ranting and complaining, I will arrange a tour of our house so you can see for yourself.
