They offer smoking and non smoking rooms. Decent priced rooms, good if you just need a place to rest your head. No fridges or microwaved in the room but you can rent one for only 5 bucks. Nothing too fancy!
Clean rooms. Wonderful staff
It's mediocre and recently flooded from a pipe burst. Some rooms on the first floor smell like mildew. They also increase prices for the Heritage car show weekend.
REALLLY clean rooms N there nice rooms well non-smoking room is what we got..the hotel ppl were very polite N nice I enjoyed my night there😎👌
* KEEP DRIVING, AVOID THIS PLACE* My son and I pulled into this Motel as we were traveling through to visit my fathers grave in Mayking, It was late and being unfamiliar with the area this was recommended by my mom who had stayed here several years ago when it was a cleaner place to stay, having drove 8 hours I was exhausted and not comfortable driving through the mountains at night, once we checked in and got to our room the odor of musty mildew and cigarette smoke was so overwhelming I asked for a non smoking room and there wasn't any available, upon getting ready to change clothes and go to bed, I pulled back the blanket and noticed our beds were not clean and the sheets were paper thin, my pillow had an odor of nasty head sweat, our mattress was horribly stained, no water pressure, bathroom light didn't work and forget taking a shower, there is no water pressure and the wash clothes looked like someone used it for a cleaning rag or a crotch rag, nicotine stains running down the walls in the bathroom, at this point I took the wash cloths down stairs and asked for some that weren't so stained up and gross, the excuse I was given was that that water company back washes the water and it ruins their towels and sheets, I said well that is so strange the sheets aren't stained like that, nor are the towels, complained about the sheets/pillow cases being dirty and the chairs looking like a porn film was made in them, i was offered a different room and told to go look at it and let them know, back up two flights of stairs because there isn't an elevator, ( not handicap friendly at all) I make my way to the new room to see if it was cleaner than the one they gave us, NOPE, just as bad if not worse than the one I was in, so I called down stairs and told the lady it was just as nasty, she told me she would call the manager and let me know what she could do. a few minutes later she calls me back and tells me well we wont charge your card if you don't stay, I was like WTF where else am I suppose to go its after midnight and I don't know this area at all my room is nasty and the bedding is dirty, wash clothes look like a hooker wiped her crotch on them after the porn was filmed in your chairs and your telling me you cant give me a cleaner room? I was told she would bring me up clean sheets, a few minutes later she knocks on the door, says " heres your clean sheets, you want to do it or do you want me to help you do it" I said I am a customer here its not my responsibility to make the bed, she pulled the blankets and pillows off the bed threw them on the floor, strips the bed and huffed at me saying " can you help me out, I have to get back down stairs" I helped her put the sheets on that is when I noticed the mattress on my bed had several patches of black mold, then on my sons bed areas of blood spatter and what appeared to be urine stains all over it. I asked her why the mattresses and pillows didn't have the bedbug protectors on them and she snapped at me and said " I don't know, this is the best I can do for you, if you don't like it you can leave and go up the road to the next hotel", I asked how far away it was, and she snapped again saying " i have no idea" rude people, nasty place and who in the hell would ever put condoms in a vending machine with food right at the eye level for children to see is beyond me, trust me when I say if I had seen the vending machine ( just past the check in counter around the corner to the right in the hallway) before I checked in, I would have NEVER checked in!! GROSS, being exhausted I went to my car and got a blanket and pillow and put that on the bed before I laid down, the next morning the manager was there when I checked out and I explained the night before to her and she came up with the excuse that they were in the process of buying new beds, blankets, sheets, etc and blamed the chairs on "construction workers" saying it was from their boots .I will never go here again!
2 night stay, clean room, good price and location. Very friendly staff. No complaints. Will stay again.
My sister and I recently spent 2 nights at the Whitesburg Motel while visiting family, and enjoyed ourselves very much. It is located in a convenient, well lighted neighborhood, and is close to grocery stores and restaurants. The price was reasonable and included a simple breakfast. The housekeeping staff does a very good job, both our room and the lobby area were very clean. The young man at the front desk was friendly and helpful. My only complaint would be small pillows on otherwise comfortable beds. I would recommend the Whitesburg Motel.
Excellent, clean and reasonable. We stayed here for an entire week and never had a bad experience. The beds and linens were clean. The bathroom was clean. There were plenty of towels and hot water. The AC worked. This is a nice little hotel and the price is great. The staff was helpful and our room was tidied up every day. Our family of three enjoyed staying it and it was a relief to know we had a convenient, safe place to sleep right in the middle of town close to the grocery store and other places. This suited our needs perfectly and I will definitely stay here again and recommend it to my friends and family.
You may notice other reviews that are negative, but after spending a week in Whitesburg I can tell you that I think there is a rivalry with the other hotel in town, and employees or friends of that one might be posting negative reviews about this one, which I think is unfair and shows poor sportsmanship. I'm not affiliated with either one, I am a visitor from Maryland and I was very happy with finding a clean, safe place to stay with my husband and small child. We really enjoyed the Whitesburg Motel.
There is also a beautiful little river right next to the motel. I don't know what more people would expect in a small rural area. My only advice would be to maybe travel with your own pillow, which I do anyway. The pillows you find in a hotel are always going to be different than the one you're used to, whether it's the Hilton or a small motel, if you have a sensitive neck like I do.
This is a great motel and we had a wonderful experience here. It was only a few miles away from the camp we were attending and was a perfect home base for all the week's activities. Close to the pool, restaurants and shops in town, and anything we needed. When we returned home I actually missed the Whitesburg Motel, because our week there was so comfortable. Honestly this is the best place to stay in town, in my opinion, and it's very cute from the outside. It looks like hotels I've seen in the Bavarian Alps.
Don't stay here, just don't. Checked in for two nights and the place has been deserted yet the desk staff thought it best to fill a room directly across from me and I spent the first day listening to them go in and out every 5 minutes, slamming the door each time. Then on the 2nd night, I was woken up at 1am by a person in the room above me pacing, FOR HOURS. I got no sleep. I JUST PAID 65 A NIGHT TO NOT SLEEP. Tell me why in an empty hotel you have to be placed right next to and below other people?!?!?! Overpriced for the crap quality of everything that you get, uncomfortable beds, flat pillows, towels are like sandpaper, you have to pay an extra $5 per night for a fridge and microwave. Barely any water coming out of the bathroom faucet. Much less hot water. Oh, and when I went to turn on the A/C unit, my room was filled with a urine smell. I was hoping that this would be a good experience as at least we were blessed to be placed in a room facing the creek. The staff were very friendly, except for the manager who just kind of shrugged her shoulders when I complained about the neighbor situation. She just gave me some lame excuses. The owners and management have a lot to learn about the basics of the hospitality industry. I will never stay here again. I'll go pay extra $ to stay at the Hampton Inn for some guarantee of rest.
