Ordered two simple half subs. They made them in five minutes. Then they served it to someone else. The other customer touched it and sent it back. They then put the opened sandwich on top of some counter. No one mentioned my sandwich was served to someone else and after 20 minutes we left after telling the hostess about the situation.
Simply not good enough. Went to another restaurant instead. This place went downhill.
Good sandwiches. I stopped in on my way home on a Sunday morning and they made my sandwiches fresh, quickly. The guy making them was pretty funny.
Loved it, best Italian sandwich that had the pleasure of entering my mouth. What else do you need to know. Stay the hell away from mustard Its a sin and only comes in packets with a sideways glance. Everything about this place was amazing. Truly a stop everyone needs to make. Loved it!
Best Italian sub and cheese steak I've ever had. Can't attest to the others as I can't seem to get away from the 2 I mentioned, but I'd imagine they are all just as good. Staff is quick and friendly.
I been coming here sense the late 70s. Great grandma lived blocks away. I was there the day Bill Causby came in for a sub. An all the pic over pic of people and movie stars. Most of all Philly Cheese Steak, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. With a Pepsi and a peanut butter Tandy Cakes.
I was in town and had to stop in for some heading home road lunch. I picked up a White House Special which was delicious! I also grabbed a Tuna sandwich before heading to my families house. I have to say we were very disappointed with the Tuna. It was very dry, as if there were no mayo used at all. Minus this glitch the food was worth the visit! When I go back down to AC, I'm sure I'll make a visit to WH!
In town for the BIG convention and since one of my missions in life is to check out every visited city's reputed best sub shop - I headed straight to the White House. Upon arrival and seeing the huge crowd I knew the place was special. The order taker was very friendly and gave an apt description of the various sub options - I ordered the "half". Now, "half" is a gross understatement because their "regular" will, unquestionably, feed an entire army. I was completely overwhelmed by the size, smell, meat portion and insanely delicious taste of the sandwich. I returned the next day to once again, experience this taste sensation.
White House subs, are, in my humble opinion, the worlds finest!
Drove all the way from New York to see what all the fuss was about. First off, im from The Bronx. Arthur Ave (Little Italy) has some of the best, most authentic Italian delis in the country. Now back to White House Subs. The place is oldso what!! If you want new and fancy go somewhere else looser! I had the White house special. The bread was fresh and had the right balance of firmness and softness. The lettuce was nice and green and crisp. The provolone was mild and the meats were flavorful, cut to the perfect thickness and were not to salty. The hot pepper relish was good, not to spicy. The tomatoes were cut perfectly. Just the right amount of oil. The sub was packed well, it was firm, moist but not messy. Over allIt was PERFECT!!! Now, the serviceI waited about 30 minutes for a table, once seated my order was promptly taken and served, i ate, i paid, and I left. Just the way us New Yorkers like it
Since going vegan this place has nothing for me, but years ago I loved eating here and my family still does. To the bread made daily there to getting to watch them make your sandwich and telling them exactly how you want it, it's so good. Many hot and cold options to choose from. You'll also notice all of the cool pictures of so many famous people that have visited. It's well worth checking out when you visit.
Best sub ever enough for an entire days meal all the bread was fresh and the fillings were top of the line
One of the best cheese steak subs I have ever had. I use to go there almost 40 years ago and then I went about 2 months ago and it was still as good as it was 40 years ago. Fantastic subs not just cheese steak.
Good subs on fresh bread with a lot of meat. Nice customer service, just don't hold up the line while you think.
Service and people here are rude. One old lady asked us rudely to get up and step aside because she had to clean the table. She did not even clean properly but anyway when we sat and asked for menu, she pointed to a laminated sheet standing behind a tissue holder next to the wall and said "DO YOU SEE THAT?". They think their place is so famous that they are doing you a favor by allowing you to sit and also eat they famous but average subs.
Very happy with the service that I received. This place was very clean. The staff was polite, professional and very pleasant. Breakfast was great. I would highly recommend this hotel. If you are in the Atlantic City area, this hotel is the best place to stay and relax.
