Very interesting place. People who run it are knowable and fun. 4 floors of history. Don't worry. there's an elevator.

It was a lot more than we expected it to be. We were in there for over two hours. Everything is displayed very well.

After the Archeology/Geological museum in Price, this was a bit disappointing. Though, if you're a railroad buff it is full of the local RR history.

Very nice little museum. I was surprised by the number and quality of displays, and there were some very nice paintings as well in the gallery room. I look forward to visiting again.

Nice little museum in downtown Helper. As you come in you are greeted by the museum curators who are more than happy to answer your questions. The museum seems to be in a period of transition. Some of the rooms are in a bit of disarray or not complete all the way. Check out the exhibits outside as well to learn more about railroad history in Helper and Price. Free exhibits are also behind the museum as you come into helper. There is a donation box as you come in payable by cash or check.

As a current Railroader for Union Pacific Railroad and a former Employee of Denver & Rio Grande Railroad & Utah Railway, the original Equipment that was used that is on display such as the Jordan Spreader plow was operated by my Step Father Antonio Mascarenas, fasinating to see this equipment survive many years of use, can probably still be used if called upon.
