I was a freshman in 2011. Graduated in 2015. The acceptance rate was 32%, now its 42% and it shows. For a school that constantly complains about a poor endowment, they really make an effort to show they don't care about the alumni and current students.
The athletic director lies to NCAA athletic directors and actively tries to dismantle successful athletic programs that aren't the football program despite the fact that the football program houses some of the most intellectually inept people I've ever encountered.
The professors are top notch and despite the fact that this college is starting to let anyone in with a pulse, the professors don't hold back. You will be worked academically, no joke about it. Ive taken summer courses at "honors colleges" and their workload is nothing compared to W&J. You will be educated, and you will learn what it means to be a top notch researcher and worker.
Their grading system sucks and puts the students at a disadvantage when applying to graduate schools when compared to normal grading systems.
The school has great connections in the state of PA so opportunities are everywhere once you graduate.
You cannot slack at this school, it will work you like a workhorse. Only those truly worthy of going to college will get a degree from here.
Greek life is good, they provide great on campus activities.
The food they provide is decent but certainly not the best. Don't listen to people who say the food here sucks. It doesn't it, its just not top notch luxury food. I've found that the people complaining about the food are ones who would consider a steak a chump change meal. Spoiled brats.
The school is a liberal arts school. You will be forced to take classes outside of your major. Those who complain about this did not research the school and should be ignored.
They offer great study abroad programs and offer shuttles to pittsburgh.
Overall a very good school. I've found that most people complaining about the school either didn't bother to research what the school is about before they came here or are spoiled brats who were fed from a 24 karat plated spoon. Super solid 3/5.
You'll pay more to live and eat here than you will for tuition. That's saying something
Has the best Physics professors! I want to learn more!
One of best colleges in the state of Pennsylvania behind Penn and CMU. Graduates typically become doctors or lawyers. Great overall education and a fantastic campus.

Best college
I had the best four years of my life at this school.
5 REASONS TO COME
1. Magellan Project = Research Opportunities to study basically anything you want anywhere in the world; Up to 80-90% of the project is typically funded
2. Intersession = 1 month long, four credit course in January that is typically laid-back but highly interesting and focused
3. Alumni network = These people are highly favorable of current students and are a huge asset to you for jobs and internships
4. 4 Year Graduation Guarantee = Do it all in four years or the school pays for it (unless you made a mistake when registering classes) 98% of students graduate in four years
5. Academics = At the end of the day, W&J is a great school with smart people - not stuck up smart people - who are hard workers. We work hard and can play hard.
Washington & Jefferson College prepares students for exciting and rewarding careers throughout their lifetime. The distinct features like the Magellan Project and Intersession afford students opportunities and grow and learn into the leaders of tomorrow.
