Our server and chef were excellent in their patience as I had my young grandchildren with me. They made it really fun for themand kept them laughing. The food was as always delicious. The bar this time didn't make the best margarita, too sweet. Don't get the bloody Mary unless you like it super spiced up. Way too much horseradish in that.

This place was absolutely one the best Japanese Steakhouse I've ever been too. The service, food quality and quantity was awesome. Our chef was entertaining, perfect for a birthday date night! This was our very first Cleveland restaurant experience and we'll definitely be back! The happy hour was a bonus!

The waiter was good but the hibachi cook was not. Food had only one flavor, garlic which was way overused. He used a large ice cream scoop size of garlic on the rice alone. And then garlic on everything else which ruined the steak. I even asked the family next to us if the steak had any flavor and the woman said "Besides garlic? The cook did not put on any of the usual show besides the onion volcano. The table part of the hibachi grill was greasy and dirty. Very disappointed and dissatisfied. Will never return here.

Fried rice in the hibachi meal is probably honestly the best thing in the world. I mean the salad is so tasty, the soup is incredibly heart warming and the hibachi just makes my life complete. Their sushi is phenomenal. Service is great; they put on a show for you if you're getting hibachi. Location is prime, close to 77.

Great fun. Bring friends but don't be shy of you're at a grill with another party as each grill seats about 10. Flying 🍤 and Sake squirted from a squeeze bottle are the perfect way to get a party started.
Not cheap, about $50 per person with a cocktail and desert, but come hungry as the portions are huge.
Casual-chic vibe where you can relax after work. The bar is large which is good because you'll have to wait until your party had all arrived before you'll be seated.response / report this review -

I eat hibachi quite often and I find this one to be just average. Unfortunately for them, I went to Wasabi in North Canton before this location and Independence just doesn’t measure up. Food at these places is always going to vary. On this particular visit, the shrimp was overcooked, the salad had more in common with soup due to the amount of dressing, and we were served hot water not hot tea. I understand that I’m sitting in front of a grill but I’ve never sweat at other hibachi restaurants. Overall, this location is not worth the distance I would have to travel to return.

This is one of the best hibachi places I have been to. The service is fast and entertaining and the food is fantastic! It's often crowded and noisy but it's totally worth it. The restaurant itself is aesthetically pleasing as well. It is also pricey, but you get what you pay for, fantastic service, fantastic food, and fun watching the chefs prepare food.

The food was excellent, I had the Sushi, while my friend had the hibachi seafood plate. The portions were large, tasty and the service was impeccable. I am going back and would recommend this location to everyone, who enjoys a great dining experience and great food!!

I'm not trying to say this place was horrible, but I'm not saying this place was great. I would so recommend going here, but ask for a better cook.
In my experience, the cook was the only thing that turned me off from this restaurant. He used way too much butter, soy sauce, and too much salt. The food he cooked tasted exactly the same, i ordered a steak, with a side of white rice. The steak tasted the same as the fried rice, the lo-main noodles and the oysters he "Cooked". Unfortunately the cook wasted over hundreds of dollars of food. I didn't eat any of it other than the white rice, which he didn't cook. Everything he cooked was absolutely disgusting.
Fortunately, our waiter made up for our bad experience. He took the steak off the bill and was totally compliant, respectable, and positive. Before the dinner, we had sushi at the bar and it was very supreme! Some of the best sushi I've had.
Overall, The dinner was awful, the atmosphere and customer service was very premium and outstanding.
3/5 - not great but with a different cook I'm sure we would have had a better and a wholesome experience.response / report this review -

The food was excellent and so was the service! We celebrated a birthday and the hibachi chef had a great personality, entertaining the whole dinner! We ordered spicy tuna sushi, shrimp and chicken hibachi, salmon and chicken, and veggie hibachi. All of the meals came with extra veggies and entree items plus hibachi noodles. One meal was enough for leftovers for lunch and dinner. All of the dishes had great taste and flavor. We really enjoyed our time there and will returnwith empty stomachs and room for leftovers!

First time there and first time experiencing something like this. It was really nice until our chef started cleaning the grill in front of us right after he served us our food. Its hard to enjoy your food and talk with your group when your trying to cover your food so de-greaser and cleaning chemicals don't drizzle into your plate. Totally ruined it.

Holy crap. Just got in to Cleveland and this was close to the hotel. Wasn't expecting much but was blown away by the food. Portions were huge and really well priced. The spicy salmon roll though.hhhhhhhhnnnnggggg. Fantastic. 10/10 would abandon their loved ones if it meant another night with that spicy salmon roll.

Wasabi has nice decor and atmosphere, but I really would not recommend it if you are on a gluten free diet.
When we arrived, we ordered sushi from our server. I asked if the particular sushi roll we ordered was gluten free and he just looked at me like I had 3 heads. I kept explaining that if any part of it had wheat in it, we'd like to order a different one. I think he said it didn't, so we ordered it.
Next, we were starving, so we wanted to order an entree from their teriyaki dishes. Well apparently, the teriyaki has wheat it in (which I assumed), but all of a sudden, it seemed that our server suddenly knew what "gluten" wasso I guess that's a good thing. I explained to him that I had been to Wasabi another time and they had made me a stir fry dish in the kitchen that was gluten free. He informed me I could not do this because we didn't sit on the hibachi side. We asked what the difference was if it's going to be made back in the kitchen anyways? He just kept saying the same thing over and over that they couldn't do it and that they had different kitchens. It was all very technical, and they acted like I was just out of luck, when that was literally the only thing I could eat!
I felt like crying and almost left b/c this was a Friday night, I was starving, and I'm sitting at a restaurant with tons of food (veggies, meat, riceall things I should be able to eat), and they're telling me they couldn't make me a single thing?! I don't see how you can get any more un-flexible than that.
FINALLY - our server came back and said "our manager said we can do it for you. My fiance thanked him and our server's response was "only this time."
Nothing like a little guilt to top off the night.
I will say, if that was bending a giant rule for them, I am thankful. But you'd think they would have a little bit more flexibility built into their system.
In the end, the food tasted good. It was just a giant hasslethe whole night. And after a long stressful week at work, that is hardly the thing you want to deal with on a Friday night dinner.
Soif you have a craving for hibachi and you don't have any diet restrictionsby all means go here. But I'm writing this review for anyone who does not eat gluten and I'm telling youthere's probably a more accommodating hibachi place in the Cleveland area for you to get your stir fry fix.response / report this review -

Today we went to this establishment for my 82 year old mother who has leukemia as well as pancreatic cancer her cancer has shrunk down 2/3 of what it was. It is not operable but the doctors are doing a very good job for her. We left the Cleveland Clinic with mom saying she would love to go to the place that cooks at your table, as my family visits the establishment in Canton and I kept telling her when she was better I would take her. Today she was better and I could not ask for a better group of people to wait on us. From the person that sat us at our table, our server, our chef, the young man who bagged our foods, they all complimented mom and treated her like she was a queen. She told me it was the best time she has had since she was diagnosed in August of 2016. To many reading this may think a comment on how good the food was (which we are never disappointed) would have been enough to say. When someone treats a person so well in a time when there seems to be so much confusion in the world then it needs to be said. I felt the employees at this establishment acted as though they were family. This makes a business run smoothly and makes someone want to come back. I will always treasure mom's experience in this establishment no matter how silly it may seem to others. Bless all of you for making the woman I love so much feel at home.

This is our favorite hibachi place in northern Ohio! Large portions of delicious food. You get noodles and rice along with veggies and your choice of meat and fish. We always go here for special occasions. Service is great as well. And the unless sake they squirt into your mouth isn't bad either.
