Very nice lady awsom dogs
I love Marlene!! She is THE MOST PASSIONATE person I have spoken with about Malamutes. I have visited Wakon twice, while on vacation in the Cascades and absolutely adore all of these magnificent creatures. So giant and so loving. We travel all the way from the East Coast to spend time with Marlene at Wakon. One thing: she is an older woman and you will need to speak loudly-- she will do the talking anyway since she LOVES these dogs!!
I found many of the dogs at this place to be quite affectionate. However, they are playful and rowdy at times, which is why I can understand Marlene's stubborn, but loving attitude towards the dogs.
But seriously, this place breeds some of the most beautiful, and loving dogs. Just look at some pictures of Roman, the dog me and my family got from Wakon.
(There are two puppy pictures in there)
I purchased a puppy from this lady on 12-31-2016, I was told she was 13 weeks old and my receipt showed a birth date if 9-25-16. I was skeptical of a puppy 13 weeks old, in the past I have had 2 malamutes at 8 weeks, never had any problems, This puppy is not sociable and trembles avery time we put her in a car, I thought she just needs more time. After contacting Marline @ Wakon to find out what age she should be coming onto heat she did not recognize my name so I told her I was the person that drive up on new years eve and that she was from the 9-25 litter, Marlene told me she had no litter then but mine was from 9-5 16that put her @ 16 weeks old without being out of a 12 x12 kennel. My wife and I have been to several trainers which both of them said it my take a year for her to get used to people and that 16 weeks is about the end of being able to socialize her without great difficulty, When I told Marlene about this she ruddy said I and the trainers are crazy. The puppy is now 8 months and still cannot travel or be around people without shying away. If I had known that she was 16 weeks old I never would have purchased her, I would have waited for the next litter. Bottom line is that this woman [ Marlene ] is a LIAR and very rude. She has a wonderful breed of dogs but DO NOT trust what she says.
Marlene honestly does raise the biggest yet sweetest giants you will ever encounter!!! We love our dog and our experience!!!
Extremely rude! She also does not screen her dogs for ANY health problems and as soon as I asked her she started viciously defending her dogs saying that such things are not needed and started talking to me like if I were an idiot for being concerned for their health! Then she pretended that the line was breaking up and laughed while she HUNG UP ON ME! TWICE
Marlene Ross is proprietor of Wakon giant Malamutes. Our experience in selecting and purchasing one of her fine animals was a memorable, educational and pleasant moment in our lives in respect finding the right companion for us. Her knowledge and understanding of the breed is by far the
