Grilled chicken salad is the best thing I've had there. Had three to go orders last week and we all threw away most of it. It's hit or miss with really good food b

My wife and I had a very pleasant meal this evening. Me, country fried steak with white gravy, potatoes, green beans and salad; my wife, grilled pork chops, apple sauce, brussel sprouts (ugh) and salad. Roll, cornbread, coffee. Everything was great, and we took some home for lunch tomorrow. Fresh salad and very reasonable prices. Friendly staff.

Used to go here a lot, but had an issue-been months since I went back. Decided to give them another shot the afternoon of 12-3-17. Sat down, and proceeded to wait 10 minutes for some tea. We then placed our orders-country fried steak for me, a ribeye for my girlfriend. Our salads we brought out shortly afterbut the wait had just begun. After 35 minutes had gone by and being told 'it was coming' twice, we decided that was long enough. There were literally maybe 4 other tables seated in this area. We got up, and went to the register to pay for our tea and leave. While there, the waitress was asked 'what was the deal' by the cashier, to which she responded "they're still cooking it". We paid for our tea and left. "Still cooking it" at 35-40 minutes after our order with no crowd there.

We saw an elderly couple get seated a lengthy after us and get a meal quite quickly. When asked I found out 'they called in their order' so they could go there, sit down an eat. That's tells you something right there. If you want to eat here, place your order via phone, give yourself 45 minutes, the come. You might eat then (if they aren't that busy)

We went to Waffle House instead

Used to always be a nice place, but recently, I don't know what has changed - it's not worth it anymore.

I used to love this place

A quaint traditionally southern restaurant. One side is smoking and the other is non-smoking. Anything from Sunday brunch to dinner entrees. They have fried chicken to veggie plates. Everything has a "homemade" taste and feel. Real comfort food. Cute knik knaks decorate the walls and serve as a little gift shop. Just don't wait to show up, they close very early compared to most modern places. Better come for dinner while it's still daylight.

Service was just fine. My collard greens were sweet which wasn't expected and very gross. Fried chicken was excellent. There are NOT vegetarian dishes outside of a 4 veggie plate and salads. Bathroom was disgusting. Items for sale are conversation starters.

Feels like my town. I grew up near this place and have been going for quite a few years to eat at Vittles. Good prices, good food, and being able to smoke inside while I drink my coffee is not only a novelty, it's extremely rare unless you're at a bar.

Small diner feel. Quick service. Classic food options are very good. I do plan on eating there again. Note: there are two entrance doors, one for the smoking side and another for non-smoking.

The food is delicious, prices are great. Be prepared to wait a while for the outstanding comfort food. Love the sauteed mushrooms, fried green tomatoes, fried mushrooms, and coffee is good as well. Creamer is dairy only. Great WiFi access. Smoking and non-smoking sections. Staff is great - polite and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place for an informal business lunch meeting. Excellent background music. Atmosphere is cozy, warm, and welcoming. Vittles is one of my go-to places. Menu options are great, so many awesome foods, such little room in my stomach.

Have to disagree with some of the less positive reviews. I love this little place and have brought quite a few of my family by here also for a good and inexpensive breakfast. Everyone always gets what they want(even my quirky wife) with a smile and hot coffee. Even brought 10people on a whim and they accommodated us quickly. Love the staff and the skillet with hash browns 👍

I Love Vittles! I love the girls, the guys, the owner (Mace) and when it comes to good food, Vittles CANNOT be beat! If nothing else, go to Vittles on Sunday (starting before noon) for the prime rib brunch! OMG~! Best and most tender prime rib on the planet cooked just the way you like it (no blackening tho = (). I get the salad to start with, baked potato, sauted mushrooms Yumm! And you could probably sit with anyone in the restaurant like they were all your family! Hard to beat Vittles!

First time here. Pretty run down place, not very clean which made me a
little uncomfortable. Food was very plentiful. Good vegetable soup and lots of it. Could have made a meal of this alone. Service was fine. You won't go home hungry. May come back, not sure. Got to get past the
    lack of cleanliness issue.

Good food, but horrible service (older lady was extremely rude and uses profanity when stressed and when the store is busy).
I have been doing a large remodel for the past three months on a house right in their back yard behind them and I've ordered there 9 times exactly. All 9 times the food took about an hour to prepare a couple of burgers (40-70 minutes). Once they were sorry and didn't charge for the burger (which is why they got 2 stars, and the food is good), the last time however, I sent one of my men there (a black man this time) and they told them, "I don't have time to f*ck with you." My men got their money back and I told them not to do business there anymore.
I will not be returning. It's too bad too because it always smells so good outside.
Hey Vittles, hire better help or learn how to operate a business professionally, your clientele are aging out so get with the times and respect ALL of your clients, not just the white ones.

We love Vittles and the whole staff! Pamela is so sweet and is always quick. We come here weekly and prefer it over any high dollar steakhouse, any day. We just love being the "usuals". Thanks Vittles!!

Southern food cooked the way it is supposed to be! Hand battered onion rings, freshly made coleslaw, slowly cooked beef pot roast..yum. You won't find canned vegetables here. Get a take out box when your food comesHUGE portions at a great price
The talkative regulars and friendly crew make it feel like a family dinner table gathering. If you go away hungry it's your own fault.
