Quaint and cozy restaurant. Ran out of my drink and had to switch to something else. No offer to compensate. Food was good.
It was my first time at Virginia grill today. The service was great and the staff were great as well. The food was magnificent! Their burger was so fluffy it was truly nice. This is a place I would go to again for sure
Burger was great but an extra $3.00 to add bacon is ridiculous. Our server was rude from start to finish despite only one other couple was dining. Then complained my 19% tip wasn't enough.Possibly the best burger in the area yet the jerk server made it to where I will never go back
Came here recently for my mom's birthday. It was my first visit. The inside of the restaurant smelled a little, kind of like old grease and bleach. But thank goodness we sat outside on the back deck overlooking the river. The server was super nice. The crab cakes were very good and the vegetables were well cooked. The Reuben sandwich my mom ordered was soggy on the bottom and did not stand out in flavor. Overall, it was a fine experience, but I'm not sure I'd go back with so many other dining options in Occoquan.
Deffinitly a cozy, historic little building, but not a great grill. Pros were there was no crowd and it seemed friendly, cons were that several tables had not been cleared/cleaned and attracted flys, our food took almost half an hour for cheeseburgers/ fries, and the staff weren't very skilled. The bathrooms were horrific, gross, smelly and felt like peeing in an alleyway.
I like to think they're new grill owners and are just working through the kinks right now. I wish them luck
Beautiful quaint old place. Friendly staff, but exceptionally slow service. I guess when you order a $7 burger you get your money's worth. The burger patty itself well seasoned but didn't hold together (needed more bread crumbs) & lettuce was soaked in water. The crab cake platter def needed more binding to hold together as well. But again you paid so little so why expect a lot? I thought it was common sense. Other than that, very good.
This place has some of the best Colombian coffee I've ever tried! Nice service and a very glad environment
Wonderful experience and awesome customer service. Called in a reservation for 20-25 people the day before and spoke with the owner directly. He was very happy to give us our own space and even cooked for us. We are absolutely coming back.
Love the outdoor seating with a view of the Occoquan River during the warm weather. I recommend the chili or chicken and dumplings. YUM! They offer alcoholic beverages as well. Not very handicap friendly.
We visited the restaurant at 6 pm on Thursday evening. It was completely empty. The waitress was slow and seemed to be new at waitressing, however she attempted to convince me to buy an entire bottle of wine saying that they have limited choices by glass but then rattled off many choices. I ordered a glass of cab and it was a very full glass and not bad. Probably from a jug of cheap wine, but not bad. Then we ordered a cup of the peanut soup. It looked like peanut soup,. but tasted like chicken soup, or gravy. We complained and were assured it was peanut soup. I think gravy. The potato skins were ok but were served with a sweet cream instead of sour cream.not sure why, but it did not work! The Rubin sandwich was goodtoasted well, not bad at all. Another couple came in and pointed out to the waitress that the menu was not the same as online, which was why they came and she agreed.but said it was for somewhere elsehuh??? The place felt dirty and sticky.was empty, waitress hard to find, food took forever..I will not return!! The more I think about it the more I am convinced that they served us cups of gravy, not soupoh, and when we went to pay she suggested we use cash rather than credit because they have trouble with the machine.thank goodness we had enough cash.I have a feeling she pocketed it!!! Something was not right with her.
Excellent! Quick service, delicious food, helpful and accommodating waiter. Great location in quaint little town on main street.
Waited five minutes to be seated. After ten minutes no one ever came to our table so we got up and headed out the door. On our way out the server asked if we were leaving we said yes and she just continued on with whatever she was doing :(
If you're in a hurry, this is not the place for you. If you're not hungry, you might get served by the time you are. It took a while to be seated, which gave time to notice that the majority of tables were not bussed. That should have been my first clue perhaps this wasn't the best choice. We were seated outside by the river (as we asked for), then nothing. No menu's, no water, no your waitress will be right with you. 10 minutes went by and our waitress looked to be surprised that know one had helped us. Looking around outside at the other patrons tables, this seemed to be par not the exception. Our waitress said she would be back with water and menus, and to her credit she did come right back with them. Then again nothing. Which gave time to notice other things on the outside deck. Repairs, general upkeep, cleanliness, were all a miss. Something as simple as moving the furniture and banging the raised nails in the deck back in didn't happen. I could go on and on, as we had plenty of time to look around. All told 30 minutes later from the time we walked in the door we got up and walked out not having had our order taken. I don't know if they were overwhelmed or if it was apathy, I would beg the latter, but I would avoid the Virginia Grill and try any other restaurant in Occoquan.
