This restaurant was recommended to us by the staff at the rental car company at Savannah Airport. A great recommendation for its amazing food, service, and location! We were lucky to not have to wait vey long since we did not have reservations. The fried green tomatoes and calamari were excellent appetizers, and so was the she crab soup. The restaurant is downtown and truly right on the river, and so a river walk before or after the meal would also be strongly recommended.

Overall an enjoyable experience. Sat outside which was lovely. The appetizers (pictured) were outstanding, but the main course I ordered of an oyster po boy was pretty bland and greasy. The service was very friendly and attentive. Honestly almost too attentive in that he was slightly overbearing. As soon as the food hit the table and he watched it get set down he would run over and ask how it was. And then 2 minutes later once we actually got to taste the food and eat some he would run over and ask again. (Same for the appetizers and main dish.) I would certainly return but order something different next time for the main dish.

We had our small wedding here and it was magical. The room sits so many people but they made it feel so perfect even with our small amount of guests. The views, the food, the decor it was amazing! Joe made our wedding so special every detail was thought of and taken care of.

I love Vic's! The restaurant is superb! The fried green tomatoes and bloody mary's are excellent. The service is awesome and I would highly recommend. The location is also great, especially for tourists. In addition, this is a beautiful venue for weddings in Savannah. The staff is attentive and wonderful to work for. Highly recommend!

My husband and I had lunch here during our honeymoon, and it was absolutely one of our favorite parts of the trip! The food was wonderful and our waitress was superb. We both had salads, drinks, and pecan pie. The manager came out and gave us ideas on fun things to do during our stay as well, which was so nice. The history of the building was an added bonus.

Amazing! We ordered the filet and crab cakes then the peach trio for dessert. Our server was friendly and genuine. It did take a little while to receive our food but she approached us and reassured us that she would check on our food and it was worth the wait!
If you are looking for a quick dinner, don't eat here but if you are looking for a leisurely experience, enjoying conversations over wine and excellent dining, then this is the place!
It is moderately expensive but we don't mind paying for quality and we will return!response / report this review -

Really concerned with all the reviews of good food but not so good service. We stopped on our way back to airport and got to tell you-Woo was a fabulous server and good was incredible.
A beautiful setting!

I really wish I could give this place more stars, I had such high hopes, and read such great reviews.
I took my girlfriend out here for her birthday dinner, and though she enjoyed it, I was let down. I had e-mailed, and called the podium to ask if there was a special view we could get or an extra amenity to be offered during our dinner. We were placed right by the piano, which though he was great and all, seemed like a downgrade, getting stuck in the bar area. We did not receive an extra amenity, which is something that is NEVER guaranteed, so I can't fault them there. We also had to wait twenty minutes for our confirmed reservation. It was December, about a week before Christmas so I totally get that it was busy. But it was very cramped in the waiting area, and wasn't a good start. Sadly, it went about the same from there. Our server wasn't anything to write home about, nothing special by any means. We enjoyed some wine and the food was okay. Overall, I would like to give this place another try, but only time will tell.response / report this review -

My wife, daughter, and I were walking along the river front, looking for a place to eat on our last night in Savannah. A friendly host outside of the restraunt informed us that the food was great and asked us if we would like to see a menu. We decided to give it a go, and we were sat right away (after the host kindly helped us with our stroller into the elevator). Our food took an incredibly long time to arrive, we were informed that our order somehow got behind a party of 25--which is strange because we witnessed tables who arrived after us receive their food much before us. Regardless, the wait would have not been an issue if our server would have checked on us and informed us that there was a delay. Instead, we were not checked on once which in turn, distressed us a bit. The manager gave us a complementary dessert to-go for the wait, which was almost comical (a scoop of ice cream). In sum, the food was absolutely delicious but the wait and service left much to be desired, and because of such, it was not worth the $109.88 and two hours spent here.

The building that Vic's sits in has a lot of civil war history in it, which I won't spoil. But for a northerner like me, it was sure awesome to be in. Onto the food, it was especially delicious. I had the lobster, crab and oyster stew while my wife had fish tacos. Both were amazing and very filling. This was more if an upscale place so expect higher prices, bit it is definitely worth it. They also had a nice drink selection and great views of the river. Will be back in the future.

We loved this restaurant. We booked our reservation online the night before for 6:45pm, we arrived a little early and they were able to seat us at our requested table by the window. Our server was friendly and attentive and the food was delicious! I had the special, which was the pan seared pork chop, probably the best pork chop I've ever eaten!
In all a wonderful experience at Vic's, I would highly recommend this restaurant. Be sure to book in advance and ask for a table by the window for the best seat 🙂response / report this review -

I enjoyed the French wine, onion soup and shrimp crepe. Portions were bigger than expected. The waitress recommended the wine and I really liked it and was able to purchase by the glass. Prices were moderate I had to ask for a water refill once, but got it right away. Located in great location near so much.

First I want to say that we had two excellent outdoor lunches here while staying at the Hyatt Regency for a meeting. Our third experience was beyond disappointing. We requested to sit in the bar because they had a lively piano player but the bartender was completely overwhelmed and apparently the waiter for the bar tables as well. Instead of the management helping her out or assigning another waiter to the bar we were forced to wait for an hour after our order was placed and the manager blamed "the kitchen" and did not take personal responsibility for HER apparent mismanagement! We paid for our expensive wine and left without a morsel of food. The manager then made the bartender cry which is ridiculous! She was forced to perform ALL bar tasks and serve patrons in the tables at the bar and was completely disrespected by her manager! My recommendation is that she quits and finds a job with a reputable organization! She was obviously a great employee and they should be ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES! We will not return.

The she crab soup was sooo amazingly delicious it makes my head spin just thinking about it!! My friends and I stopped in on our first night in Savannah. We were walking around looking for a dinner spot with no waiting. I know, right? What were we thinking?! There were 3 of us and at first they said 50-60 minute wait. While the hostess was telling us about their sister restaurant, another hostess caught her attention to chat, then she told us they had a table for us immediately. We lucked out, I guess. We all enjoyed our dinners. My one friend and I has the she crab soup and the shrimp and grits. Both were out of this world good!! I can't even remember what my other friend ordered, but she enjoyed it as well. I was so intoxicated by my delicious choices that I didn't even know what was happening right next to me!!

Vic's is always on our list when my husband and I come to Savannah from Atlanta. This trip I was travelling with our daughter for her birthday. Our dining experience was well below average. The She Crab soup arrived cold, not once but twice. The scallops were amazing, but the risotto was cold. My daughter ordered her steak rare, but it was over cooked. We dined early but this should not spoil the experience. Over all it was very disappointing. What I love about the south is that there are so many dining options. If I could do 1/2 star, 2.5 is more deserving.
