I love visiting the varsity club when I'm on campus, however I wasn't permitted to take my 20yr daughter in the restaurant portion, on a game day. No one under 21 on game days.
Good wings, pizza, and beer. Good walking distance from Central and North campus. Paid Parking right across the street at ROTC. Lots of room and friendly, fast service. I'd recommend it to anyone.
OK place, not as much of a must see bar as it used to be back in the day. Owners seem to have followed the university's master plan and try to squeeze every last penny from anyone willing. Pizza is OK I'd recommend walking down the street to Tommy's.
Fun place right across the street from St John Arena! Menu is limited, but we've been here several times and always enjoyed the burgers and subs. All ages enjoy this Buckeye spot!
Quite pricey for the location and food type. Typical bar food at about double the price that is usually expected. Ambience is homely and interesting.
Don't go on game day Says in website it's family friendly, but no one under 21 on game day!
This is a cool little college bar to see while you are visiting OSU. It has some character and I'm sure a lot of local followers. The food was amazing! Pizza was cooked perfect and cheesy with a nice crunch of the dough. Great atmosphere with the NFL Sunday games going to include Cinci vs Cleveland rivalry. Could have had the sound on for the big game but still a great place. Service was good even with several kid parties in the dining room. Could have used another staff member or two but our server did a great job keeping up with us.
If you like loud rap music and all the f'n words that go with it you will be right at home.😉 Seriously, good college scenefood is decent and they have football on tv. What more can you ask for???
Varsity club is a divey bar for alumni and grad students looking for a quick drink. It has a couple TVs scattered around the interior but not enough to be considered a good place to watch the game. The drink options are also mediocre since there's only about 6 beers on draft and an assortment of bottles. If you're looking for a more authentic college bar, try little bar just up the street.
OK I'm a bar type. I like this place a lot and that's saying a lot considering I'm not an OSU fan. Go SEC
Old-school college bar a stone's throw from the OSU campus. Great pizza.
I know it was mid-week, but this was an hour before game time, and much lower-key atmosphere than I was expecting. Our pizza however, was great. Friendly and responsive wait staff.
Plenty of room for groups or private enough for a night out. No complaints with the food and the staff has always been courteous. I have not tried to eat here on a game day because I know it gets packed. But otherwise, I would recommend everyone try this traditional Ohio State restaurant at some point.
Pretty sweet college/alumni bar to watch the game! We didn't want to drop a couple hundred on tickets so we found a place to watch, and this was a great find! Good prices on beer, and nice people!
