I love this practice, I've been a patient of Vance Family Medicine since 1998. All my kids are patient's there as well. The best part of this office is that they take walk-ins, and they offer service after hours. I am very satisfied with all the providers there and there is no other office like Vance Family Medicine.

Dr Higgins is our family physician! He did my wife's prenatal care, delivered both of our sons, and now does their routine health checkups and sick visits. He and the staff are excellent and it's amazing to get such comprehensive care in one place. The extended weekday hours and weekend hours are great, and they always see us as walk-ins if needed

I have been a patient at Vance Family Medicine for many years. During this time, I have been very pleased with the medical services that I receive from Anita Rogers, PA. She is always very compassionate and spends the time I need with all my medical concerns. She is very prompt with my appointment but also thorough with my care. I highly recommend Anita Rogers at Vance Family Medicine.

I've been a patient @ Vance Family Medicine for about 9 years. The providers here are all really great. My Family and I are always taken care of whenever we have to come. What I love the most is the extended hours, it's not often you can find a Doctors office opened on Sunday.
I would recommend Vance Family Medicine!!

I had an issue with the office that had not happened before, asked for the office manager and spoke with Cindy who absolutely turned everything around for me! Thankful for her understanding and determination that helped me so much! Truly a model of what an ideal office manager should be.

Docs are a blessing, but if doc gives u medication go back to office do not call. The medication nurse does not do her job. Working on 72 hours without my meds and keep getting run around

I have sat in the office till they closed, over looked by receptionists and forgotten till the point of no return where I was forced to come In the next day to get something as simple as lab results. My most recent appointment, which was urgent, wasn't even scheduled despite the fact I scheduled it over the phone, the day of the appointment comes and they claim there is no appointment. Jennifer is an amazing doctor but the receptionists are slacking.

I've been going to this office for six years. It met my basic needs for most of that time, but I was dissatisfied w/the nurse practioners I'vebeen forced to see ONLY, who pretty much ALWAYS present themselves as bored, disinterested in you are a human being in need of medical care. I say this as a senior with diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, serious high blood pressure problems and severe back problems. I'm no whiner or difficult. I bent over backwards to be pleasant, but never got to see a real doctor, even though he was listed as my physician, never given a routine cardiogram, as I had been in the state I moved from, even when I requested it. It got to the point for a long while that I was very reluctant to even call when I needed to, because I knew I'd be met with the same or yet another rude, bored, very poorly young female PA who sees their job as one to just shuffle the old, disabled lady on Medicare, out the door as fast as possible. It's been obvious to me that MOST of the girls (and they are ALL young women) have zero interest in the health of patients. It's just a job.

BUT.. I have noticed in the past year or so, a great improvement. I see a real doctor now and she is a blessing. Some of the same gossiping, immature and bored young PA's are still there, who I HOPE never to have contact with again.

btw.. Regarding seniorsthere is a certain hostility many nurses aides, nursing assistants and yes, nurse practitioners have toward the patients in their care, from the very young on up, but especially toward the elderly. Frankly, based on all I have heard from others my age and my Mother's age group (80's), its almost as if they just want us all to die, the sooner the better. In the Vance Family parking lot, I and my family, grandchildren included watched a frail, white haired, elderly woman on a stretcher, in a sitting position, who I'd seen inside and knew to be unable to communicate, but awake, be shoved in her stretcher downhill, by her male nurses aide, who then let it go rolling rapidly toward 2 or 3 other nursing assistants standing beside a transport van. They all stood there laughing. THAT is the a kind of attitude and ABUSE many elderly experience. Contempt and abuse is common. Though I reported that incident, I have no idea how it turned out. We can and should PRAY for the care and safety of this nation's elderly in the hands of a medical profession that very often is FAILING them!!

We have been using this doctors office for a while, and we used to like it. Until Obama care kicked in we had to buy insurance. The first time we tried to use our Carelink from Coventry Care, my husband was "Forced" to have his blood sugar checked when he went in because he broke his foot. And they said that even though they are listed on the Coventry Care, tier 1 ($15 co-payment) list as primary care physicians, they will force you to pay a tier 2, $50 co-payment saying that they don't take anything related to Duke Medicine even though all physicians in this office are listed. I was on the phone with Coventry Care for an hour trying to get this straight, but Vance Family Medicine will not honor the contract they signed. One of the reasons we chose the insurance we got was so we could keep our doctors. Now we have to look for new doctors because they wont honor this one.
