Had a great experience here for Engineering undergrad and am excited to start grad school in the fall here too! 4 stars because it would always be nice to get more variety of professors and like any school, there are room for improvements. I do think the cost of attendance is very high, however, it's recognized as a great school for it's many programs and success rates for post-graduate employment!

HUGE mistake going to this university. 95% Classes are only offered once in a year. That makes a student to struggle alot to graduate. Professors and stuffs are extremely rude and unprofessional. Omg can't believe, they treat people like that. It's worser than a community college. Extremely small college, which makes hard to meet people. Sucks. They want your MONEY, that's all. People are narrow- minded, not friendly at all. Extremely expensive tuition. It's not worth what you pay for this university. They don't provide good education compared to wayne state, Oakland university, Michigan state. I'm transferring to another school. It's basically a scam university, trying to drown student into debt. DON'T fall for this university. Their degree is basically useless. I can guarantee that any school would provide better education than this stupid university. Don't regret going there like me. Runnnnn, stay away.

I'm enrolled in a Master's program of Architecture at UDM. The curriculum exactly fits my needs and considers all my previous education. Staff and students here are more like a family, that creates friendly environment especially for new students. Studios here are mixed of theoretical and practical approaches, which expands my experiences in both ways. The school shop has all kind of machines that help in doing models. The school has good ranking and reputation in the area. The dean is such a great person, also he is AIA Michigan president of year 2017. Since I got here, I have learned a lot and my skills increase especially in design and using computer softwares. The professors here are really nice and so helpful, they always have their doors opened for any questions or if you're seeking advise. I have been in contact with U of M when I was applying for a Master's program, I found them careless, kinda lost and unorganized, unlike UDM School of Architecture, they know exactly what're they doing and care about each single student in the school. School here gives students good chance to meet with professionals and big companies to help get them a co-op or and intern position once the student graduate.

First, I love the academics and the professors at UDM. However, what is frustrating is the high cost of attendance and the lack of GA positions. Moreover, to make matters worse is the administration, in particular, the Student Accounting Office (SAO). They are absolutely anti-student, and do not help students whatsoever. They love taking student funds and paying the university, but the amount owed back to the student is held for an ridiculous amount of time. And they will not help a student and give any type of advance on money owed to the student by the university regardless of any financial crisis the student is having. I love Detroit and the classes at UDM. However, I am leaving UDM for WMU where I have a GA position, get paid for attending, and have my tuition and fees paid. Additionally, WMU is a more prestigious university. The frustration of dealing with mindless bureaucrats at UDM and the outrageous cost of attendance is not worth staying at a place that I love.

This school is what I was looking for in a Private College. Small Classes, Great Faculty, Conveinently Located. PERFECT!
