They work hard to make attending this school an experience. Only complaint is how as an alumni you feel distant from the school immediately. It's a well thought out campus, with slightly 1950 architecture in some buildings like administration. Newer buildings are modern and give the school some flavor. Classes are great as are research opportunities. 4 stars because the schools continuously calls and asks for donation even if you're still in debt, yet revokes your email accessibility, charges $25 dollars each time you need a transcript (it's a piece of paper), and subliminally gets students acquainted with "branding" of the ' U. C. ' system. Good school overall, O. K. value in the end.

(Review based on experiences from about decade ago) Good, affordable education. Depending on your program, class sizes could get quite large and students may receive little support from professors. Professors have a lot of amazing research going on, so great for research opportunities. Students were overall quite friendly, good atmosphere, though somewhat lacking in diversity -- at the time I attended, middle/upper class Asian Americans were a large majority of the student population. Overall beautiful campus. Peaceful and safe place, though living in the city of Irvine can be quite expensive for a student.

Love the area alot. Very good studies, students, and not much traffic. You would spend a very good time here, even if you are studying abroad.

I stayed around 6 days at UCI dorms for a Stem Prep program and it was great. Better than expected. I like their majors, the environment is great and friendly and I've learned plenty from the students that attend this great college! I plan to apply to this college myself.

A terrible school over run with racist zionists. For four straight days this past May, a group of Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers called “Reservists On Duty” harassed UCI students who were displaying a Mock Wall to educate their campus about Israel’s concerted violations of international law and Palestinian human rights. The soldiers surveilled, disrupted, and physically assaulted Palestinian students, along with their Latinx, Black, Native and Jewish allies. This occurred in full view of UCI administrators, who refused to intervene.
“Rather than protect us from harassment by foreign military agents, UCI is investigating students for ‘disruption’ because of chanting in reaction to a physical assault on the students during the Q&A session of an event with the soldiers. This just blames the victim and abandons vulnerable students, many of whom have experienced discrimination and brutality at the hands of the same military,” explained Forest Agostinelli, a student who participated in the events. “The administration failed the students at every turn.”response / report this review -

As of 2017 im a junior at UCI. If you want to attend this school or know someone who does, keep the following in mind about this school and the city itself. 1) Space is a commodity here at UCI, parking is expensive and you will have to get a parking permit at the campus community you live in. Also there are separate parking fees if you want to park on campus which requires a totally new permit if you want a quarter pass for on campus parking. Parking can run up to $600 a month for some people who want a parking permit in their housing community and on campus. Also parking tickets are around $68. 2) Its not too millennial friendly, most people in Irvine are there for four years to get their degree, the other people in the city are suburban families who are comfortable with an environment that younger people will consider quite boring. The school itself has a great reputation for its research and obtaining large funds from alumni which helps fund the schools expansion and academic achievements. Irvine is a safe city but for others who want to experience a spectrum of culture and informal charm that a lot of cities have, this place is not the place to be on a weekend if you want some fun. 3) Take care of your mental health! TAKE CARE OF YOUR MENTAL HEALTH! This school is excepting more students without expanding resources to meet the demand. Students will find themselves sharing the same resources around campus with more students, mostly freshman, who want access as well. This research school is competitive so take care of yourself when needed because you will struggle and you will feel burned out. 4) Try to break the bubble! Unless you have a car Irvine will be a trap and you will not experience that much other than whats around you at the University. 5) Its expensive! If your a young person going to this school, it is going to show you the reality of expensive room and board. Everything in this city was meant to accommodate wealthy and middle class residence who live there year around. If you are coming from a poor background where you are around other minority groups, prepare for what I like to call the "culture less shock" Irvine will deliver to you.

This school is overrated. Doesn't have much to offer, but it has high tuition and lacks any nice qualities. Better schools are available for less cost.

This place is a JOKE!!!! The only difference between this place a hell hole is the ac works. How do you NOT know where a patient is? And why are people lined up like a heard of cows waiting to be slaughtered in a hallway? Also when deciding to go into a profession where you want to help people (NOT only focus on a paycheck) understand that there are going to be MANY different personalities.. we are NOT here just because we had nothing better to do. We are here because something is wrong.

Great school and environment with brilliant teachers and friendly, very intelligent students. The support services are fantastic and the school makes you feel welcome. They are also good to students with disabilities, which is rare in other schools most of the time. UCI is where dreams come true and a place where aspiring students can achieve what they set their minds out on what to do to change the world for the better. Housing is very tough to get, especially for non-traditional students, but if you persist you will get it eventually. Highly recommended.
