Food was excellent. Great steaks, service was exceptional. Love the ambiance. Outdoor eating if you like. Definitely recommend. This was our first trip but will not be our last!

Nice looking place inside. Food was just okay. Bisque was salty and not hot. Peppercorn sirloin was low quality beef and the chef had a very heavy hand with the peppercorns. Mussels where past their shelf life. Place is so big it sounds like a cafeteria. Incredibly noisy, so loud it'll give you a headache. Told the manager (Timothy) this and he said " welcome to florida" I told him "I live here". He was unapologetic and didn't give a rats ass how our dining experience was. His rationale is they are so busy he doesn't need repeat customers.

The food is fabulous. They have a Boston Baked Haddock special that is to die for, especially for us New Englanders craving northern seafood . From the soups to salads and entrees, everything is done right.

I was at the University Grill on Friday, Oct 6, 2017 for a late lunch (about 2 pm). The restaurant was about 20% full and there seemed to be a surplus of servers.

    First, the "good".
    1. The crab bisque was outstanding!
    2. The interior of the restaurant is lovely.

    Now for the "bad".
    1. The 60-ish heavy-set hostess never greeted me, did not ask me to follow her to the table, and did not tell me that my server would be with me shortly. I am assuming that she was angry about something and took it out on me. She spoke not one word to me. Personally, I have a problem with this. Bad day or not, if you are working with the public, put your happy face on or get a job working in a cubicle. Horrible first impression.
    2. After more than 5 minutes, a chunky blonde female server came to take my order. I asked about the bisque. She said it was fabulous, so I ordered a bowl. She did not lie. It was wonderful. When I ordered the bisque, I kept the menu and told her I would order the rest of my lunch when the soup was served. Well, guess what? Blondie did not serve my soup. It was served by a food runner. Blondie never did show up to take an additional food order. I actually had to flag her down to get my bill.

I have given time and date of my visit and physical descriptions of the two people I interacted with so the management will know who they were. My guest check had something like "a.m. bar" listed for the server, which I am fairly certain was not my server's name.

I doubt seriously that University Grill will get a second visit from me.

Went in on a family recommendation. The decor is very dated, like a country club that hasn't been renovated since the early to mid seventies. The menu is surprisingly small for dinner, but the food was outstanding, if not just a tad pricey. I rate this as 3 stars because of our server. I have no idea what her name is, because she never told us. She asked if she could offer drinks, and we asked for root beers. She almost seemed annoyed that we weren't ordering alcohol. She asked if we had ever been in before to which we replied no. She pointed at the menu and the specials menu and said, "well, there's a lot to look at" and walked away. Clearly, we aren't the establishment's usual clientele. I have sort of a punk rock look, and my wife is pierced, tattooed, and has blue hair. Our food arrived well paced and was very, very good. Kudos to the chef. We didn't realize how our server was treating us until the table behind us got sat. Their server, a male, was very polite, recited specials, discussed different aspects of the menu, and was very attentive. We only saw our server when food was dropped off and once during entrées, when I had to ask for water as I had run out of my soda (no refill was ever offered). We still tipped 19% on a $63 bill, but it was mainly to show her that the younger crowd may look different, but doesn't inherently deserve lackluster attention due to age and appearance.

An old school restaurant with an expansive menu and daily specials. Sunday is prime rib day, with a reduced price for a nice piece of rib. Wood interiors, wait staff in black and white, and a good wine list. Some day, I hope to have room left for one of their great sounding desserts,!

The food is well prepared and fresh. Crab bisque was excellent as were the jumbo shrimp. Nice quiet atmosphere. A little pricy, but worth the extra. If they would turn down their thermostat just a little, I would give them five stars. It was a little too warm. Perhaps that's in catering to an older crowd.
