I bought PET rats in here. They missexed them. They don’t handle the rats in the right way at all. Picking them up by their tails. Horrible place. Not to mention they can’t communicate their own policy’s on how they take in animals. #adoptdontshop

The manager Amy was amazing!! We bought a bird there this afternoon and she was more more than help full. She was amazing and helped us out so much I can not say enough about how happy I am with their services.

Customer service is great, as long as you ask for help yourself. Prices are marked up 50 to 100% on fish. Very little is any, negotiating prices on fish. Feeder fish are roughly .38 cents a piece, compared to petsmarts' .17 cents a piece. If this wasn't the only store near with exotic fish. Then I would never go through there doors again

This place is disgusting. Plain and simple. I was given a small loan of a million dollars and I wouldn’t spend a dime at this place. Animals mistreated, cheesy name, annoying tramp workers, and affiliations with China. This isn’t fake news people! I’d rather crack open a couple cold ones with Rosie O’Donnell before I step foot in this place again.

I bought my female pekignese there. I had the best service! Amy was very knowledgeable about my puppy. She was so good to both me and my pup. I would buy another pup there. Thank you for taking good care of us!

Went to look for a dog for my son. Asked to see one of the dogs and the staff said no. I walked out and bought a dog from some where else. Guess they were to good for my money. And the staff was rude every time I have been in there

DO NOT. I repeat DO NOT buy a dog from here. They lied right to my face and told me I was getting a puppy but they sold me a horse. Amy, the animal specialist, is actually phenomenal and a huge sweetheart. They take care of the dogs well here. I never ever intended on purchasing a dog from here nor did I ever want to support a for profit business of animals but my pups changed my life. I found my forever friend and I wouldn't change a thing. He was treated exceptionally well by both the workers and the owner. He was usually never even caged considering he was the stores favorite dog. I've had him for 3 months now and I just couldn't be happier.

Always loved going to Uncle Bill's on east Washington St. So decided to spend some time at this location when we were in the area to see what pets they had and see if prices were different or anything. Their prices from store to store vary very little, but when it comes down to it the east side store seems friendlier in comparison as well as cleaner. As you enter this store you're welcomed to what smells like a mix of all animal droppings. Venturing further in half the dogs or more had poop in their cages and almost all other types had their bedding covered in feces. Then head over to the bird area to see their selection, they have a couple of parrots. They will not let them out of their cages and will not let you try to socialize with them. Any bird owner will tell you if u put a bird up every time people come close that bird will turn aggressive. Same goes with any animal, which found the ferret cage was left unlocked so went and propped it open to be able to play with them. Was interrupted by an employee accusing me of prying the cage open and trying to steal a ferret. Though when u look at the lid it was unlocked which takes a key to lock/unlock. Will not be returning to this store again, not very friendly service as well as not very sanitary on top of other things.

My boyfriend and I just visited on July 2 at about 3:30 pm (leaving at about 4). The management and employment are not polite in the slightest. We tried to asked questions and the manager herself ripped the puppy from my boyfriend as it was biting him, completely ignored my questions, and walked away without saying anything. She was rude after I waited for her to come back when actually answering my questions. The rest of the staff in the area ignored us as well. The dogs are very high in price, especially for mix breeds. They were also not very clean, as we saw dirt and pee on the dogs. I do not recommend this place as they are not friendly or polite in the slightest. Highly disappointed. We were actually thinking about working out a way to get the puppy we were looking at, but we will take our business elsewhere. Thank you for the horrible experience and having terrible customer service.
Update: The general manager above her, Pete, actually handle this situation very well and corrected what she damaged. He was kind and has excellent customer service and made up for her attitude. Although we are still upset that she ruined our experience, we feel a little better knowing that they at least have a good general manager. It was unsettling, however, to learn that she has had several complaints on her in the past.response / report this review -

Used to be a good place to go for feeder crickets and live mice. Now their stock is horrible, and worse off than the stuff you would find in the wild.
Their feeder crickets are all sized incorrectly, their large can be as small as what I would call pinheads at times, they all die very quickly, and aren't that great in value.
Their feeder mice are just the same way, all undersized, and overpriced.
My opinion would be to go online for anything in that nature, plus anything else, it's highly overpriced and their "pets" for sale are all mills anyways.

I went here in pursuit of a chinchilla. The guy that got them out had to call another person over and he literally asked in front of us, "How do I get it out without it biting me?" I get pet store animals are skiddish in a temporary environment but the employees couldn't handle it and the chinchillas seemes terrified in a cage that isn't even big enough for your average lizard. Not to mention everything is overpriced and the store is dingy.

Prices are on the high end but the selections are amazing. Seem to have a bit of a staffing issue on the ween eds but never had a problem on th weekdays. Staff is knowledgeable. Great selection of fish and reptiles. If you need something to set up or care for your animals it is worth the slight up charge (really they are comparable to petsmart / petco pricing with more brands/choices)

Was in the store tonight. Went in because I was told that they had a French bulldog, which we have been looking for. The "manager" was extremely rude and said they won't get puppies out just to play. When I told them I wouldn't purchase a puppy without seeing it's personality first, she said again "I'm not getting him out to play." Well, you just lost an extremely overpriced cash sale. Sorry puppy.

They actually let you interact with the animals to find one that fits with you. My son wanted a Hamster for his 4th birthday. We thought maybe a Guinea Pig would be better for him. We were able to show him the animals and let him get a feel for them. NOTE: He did not hold them himself, we held the Guinea Pig and let him pet it. We did not end up buying one because he ended up being all over the place and not committed. We figured it might be too big of a responsibility for him. Maybe for his 5th birthday.
