Ortona Lock is a dam located just 6.6 miles from Port La Belle,Fishermen will find a variety of fish including bream, bluegill, tarpon, catfish, snook, gulf flounder, largemouth bass, striped bass and drum here

Visitors are welcome to watch the boats and yachts travel through the locks here. You can access the locks and walk on the lock structure from both sides of the river, from the south at the campgrounds, and from the north at the Army Corps of Engineers office.

We got to the lock at 4:30 PM it says it closed at 5. We tried reaching the lock via radio and even called the number we found on here. No one answered us. At 5 o'clock the person walked out the door and just left. Like you job is so hard buddy. Even if the lock couldn't be open at least tell us.
