I've had the (learning) opportunity to visit this location several times over the past 2-3 years. The lines are long and slow .. no surprise there, but:
1) inside waiting area and bathrooms are immaculate
2) clerks are always very friendly, and often competent and helpful
3) parking is plentiful, as long as you drive over the curb and park in the dirt lot just to the North
4) the clincher: the security officer. He's seriously amazing in how he manages the flow of customers. He was incredibly helpful, patient, and competent. He seemed to intuitively recognize which customers would need extra help understanding/hearing when their name/number was called, and would watch out for them and help when needed. I saw him do this repeatedly, over multiple visits. It almost appeared that he actually remembered everyone's name who was currently waiting. I think everyone who has visited this location in the past year should get together and buy this guy a Christmas present. He really makes the visit far more tolerable.
I was respected, and I received a fast accurate response to my question
Have been here on various occasions for different things. Every time its a different experience, it just depends who you come in contact with and for what reason. Have had both very good days and very disappointing ugly days.
I was shocked at how fast I was in and out of there! Everyone who was working there was really kind and made the experience bearable. My advice would be to show up at 8:30 am because the parking lot was almost full by the time it opened at 9 am. One issue I had was hearing my number being called because they are renovating but other than that I found this experience very quick and painless!
I read some terrible reviews and buckled myself for a terrible experience. However, I had a pleasant time at this office and every single person that helped me during my 4 visits within a month have been awesome and helpful.
1 thing I learned about this place is timing. I went about 30 minutes before closing and was helped after 45 minutes of opening. HOWEVER, when I go 15 minutes before closing, that waiting gap is even smaller to the point where I waited about 4 minutes.
Amazing and wonderful! I expected to be put on hold for an hour listening to the world's worst music. A human answered right away. I expected to make an appointment, have to go there and, of course, be told I didn't have the right documentation and have to return at some distant date, yet to be determined.
None of that happened. I spoke with an incredibly kind man named Joe who answered my questions, had information I needed mailed out to me right away and just like that, I was enrolled.
I am not making this up. The whole experience was remarkable for its efficiency. Thank you, Oceanside Social Security.
Thank you for your quick response without an appointment. The wait on a Monday was not as long as I thought it would be and the gentleman behind the counter was very polite, informative, and helpful.
You never get the same answer twice, not even on the national line. Also I am not sure how people rated it quick service?
It has always been an 2- hour minimum wait for me. You also can't make appointments when calling them to ease things up on both. Them and us the citizens. Fine tuning is needed.
Very quick and professional service. In and out fast.
Great !!! Very polite and helpful. I spoke with Aricely and she was very thorough and gave me a lot of very helpful information.
There is no parking if you get here when the doors open. I had a box cutter on me and was told I can't have it because it's considered a knife. And why is there so few building if this is used for everything. You'd think we'd stop using a broken system with Zero security measures in place, Zero ways of identifying the person presenting for the number is that person. This is all broken.
The guard on duty had a sense of humor, and the woman Mrs. King was super friendly and helpful. It was my first experience there, was in and out quickly.
Security gaurd was helpful and nice, first lady to take my ticket was helpful and nice, i sat and waited maybe 10 minutes without an appointment and then got called to the window. Lady at the window was HORRIBLE. Shes a black lady with light colored hair and she worked at window 6, dont know her name but she needs to be fired. I had ALL documentation i needed for a name change but I didnt even want the name change, i just wanted my middle name taken out of my card so it just read my first and last name, not my first, middle and last. She demanded i show her name change documents even though I didnt want to change my name, she argued back and forth with me. I asked to speak to someone else but she refused. She was the rudest person i have ever met in my entire life. Never, ever coming back here. Doing it all by mail.
They sent my new social security card to the wrong address, and better yet, they put the wrong last name on my new card. Now I have to go through this whole process all over again, thanks a lot!
Try to hire people that know what they are doing next time!
Walked in with no appt. I was helped quickly. Alexander was great, funny and very helpful. Answered all my questions and was very patient. Thank you for your help!
Thank God for what you have
Dont worry just be happy
Social Security might be unfair
But at least they are trying to help everyone in need
If we had a better society there would not be any problems
Just have fate in god and yourself
I wish i had a farm land that's my dream but i will work and work
Untill i get my farm land
I mean it might take forever but at the end you have peace and happiness
Thanks
