I remember this place being beautiful and we'll kept. Went back for a quick trip through,and it looks a little run down. It could be because it's early spring and it's just not been attended to yet. There seems to be some construction going on. Will try a day trip again in the summer, hopefully I'll be able to give a better review!

Don't let the two star Hotel rating fool you. This little rustic Lodge with nice clean rooms overlooking the lake is awesome! If you're a camper but .maybe an off-season like to get a nice little overnight romantic getaway you won't be disappointed.

I️ grew up visiting this park weekly to go boating with my family so it holds a special place in my heart. It’s a beautiful lake with clean almost clear water, cliffs to climb/jump from, and the occasional rope swing. If I️ had a family, I️ would love it! There are no bars around and while you see people drinking, it never gets out of hand. The campground is ok but not great and there are cabins of similar quality. Make sure to book a cabin far in advance, as they quickly fill up.

This is a nice state park, great activities going on here year round. Nice for swimming in summer and there's a nature center free to check out. They have a hard time keeping a restaurant in the lodge so call ahead to be sure food is available.

From our wedding at the gazebo and reception at the pavilions to the lodging at the cabins couldn't have been more wonderful! The staff is friendly and helpful and very accommodating! Thank you all for a perfect celebration!

Gorgeous view of the lake from the lodge. It's a very serene and peaceful place. Also, the breakfast here was delicious. Staff was friendly and personable.

Had a great time as usual. Not as expensive as the other campgrounds, but there is no running water or toilets/showers. Nice camp sites, generously sized. We did notice only very few site had a fire ring, hopefully they'll be replacing them soon.

Nice quiet place to boat, walk, or hike. Good picnic areas. Swimming is no longer allowed from the shore 😢. Only in tiny swim area below tons of steps 😰

Huge state park with clean artificial beach. I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised when we went there. They had picnic tables along side of the beach, swimming was allowed upto 7ft deep water and they also had kayaks for rent. Less crowded and was peacful.

Dissapointed the website does not inform potential visitors how difficult reaching the actual beach area is. Very long walk down and back up a steep stairway. Not for anyone with knee, hip or breathing problems.

Check in and check out times stink, we went to the restraint for breakfast waited over an hour to eat. We were here last year omg what a change. Going from loving the stay to it just being ok. Last time we stayed at the lodge this time we stayed in a cabin. The price for the cabins are way to high for what you get. 2 person canon 172 a night can't check in till 4 and have to be out by 10 am.

"Beach" and "Lake" are both just a small roped off area where you can swim almost similar to a small pool. Really laid back and nonchalant employees when speaking to the two in the cabin to get info

Our room was beautiful, with higher ceilings, nice furniture and very comfortable beds. The room was very clean and fully stocked with WV handmade soaps and shampoos, fresh clean towels and fresh clean sheets and bedding. The view from our room was breath taking. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. They went out of their way to accommodate our extra requests. We were extremely impressed. Especially since we were staying in the off season and we were still provided with exceptional service and a high quality product.
