Very professional. Great analysis. Very caring.
Unorganized , staff are rude between each other. And others
First visit. Great price to neuter/spay. Busy, nice
I just wanted to write a review after reading the last one that was posted a month ago. How sad, to give a vet 1 star for not giving your feral cats free checkups. And because they had a messy desk. If they became known as the place that did free feral cat checkups they'd be out of business with a line out their door.
I have been going there for two years now and it's 5 star when you combine the service with the price paid. They are very down to earth and easy to talk to. And half the price you pay if you're closer into the city. They don't try to blow smoke or talk about stuff they don't know, will find answers to odd questions you might have, be it breed specific or other. And they are very detailed in maintaining the proper shots and when to give them.
Just like any business, Twin Oaks need to keep their doors open. So don't go there expecting handouts. I know, shocker. And if you can't properly pay for your feral animals, bring them to a shelter. Especially cats. They ruin ecosystems by killing off other species in the area they inhabit. Catch, Spay, and Release is not a good practice. Typical selfish behavior. Wanting handouts and having a hissy fit when you don't get your way. Dirty desk! 1 star! I feel bad for Twin Oaks after reading that mess.
Guys and Gals, if you're looking for a vet that is friendly and affordable (for the area) this is the place to go. We literally drive here from Jersey City now, because we moved, and will continue to do so. After 10+ visits for shots, wounds, and other illnesses for both of our dogs, we have had zero problems. They even make sure to answer our breed specific questions, or find the answers later, because we have two Basenjis and they need treatment that is different from the average dog.
If you're looking for handouts, can't or don't want to pay for service, especially for a pet that isn't yours, talk to your local shelter. Sometimes they have programs they offer to help out.
We have two cats and a dog, so we have a lot of experiences with vets. This was the worst by far. We were bringing in a feral cat from a colony near us for TNR (trap neuter release). We have been fostering her and her kittens in the hope that we can get them adopted, and we were told by someone who does a lot of cat rescuing that we should bring her to Twin Oaks. She told us to bring the kittens to, because they have helped her out in the past and looked over the kittens free of charge, since they know that she is helping. When we got there, the office was a mess. Papers, food wrappers, empty bottles, prescriptions and who know what else all over the "desk". There was another desk in the corner that was just as messy. We were immediately given a hard time over the specifics of the mother cat because they had not yet gotten the paperwork from Bergen County Animal Shelter. They were very cagey about cost, the were trying to convince us to give her flea and tick medication, but were not telling us how much it would cost. When we asked about the kittens, they told us that we would have to make an office visit, and that the vet would not look them over. When we said that we know they've done it before for our friend, the receptionist, Bridget, basically called us a liar. Her friend, Kathy, then piped us and said that she could prove our friend was not given a free check by showing us the records. We said fine, show us, and she just turned to the next customer. I left the office, with the kittens unchecked, practically in tears because of the incredible rudeness and downright nastiness that these two receptionist's showed us. I am in the customer service business, and I have never seen or experienced treatment like that. When we came to pick the cat up, they had not tested her for felv like we asked them to, and made a big deal about how they were doing us a favor by doing it then. The receptionist we dealt with in the afternoon was very kind, and seemed to understand our frustration. Kathy was still there however, and was just as nasty as she was in the morning. We had to pay for the felv test, and I did not want to give them my details, because I never want to hear from them again. Kathy tried to force us to give our address and contact details, but we refused. One of the vets made a big show about apologizing, but he kept insisting that it wasn't his fault, but he was apologizing anyway. It was very patronizing and he was clearly just trying to get us out the door.
I will never visit this vet's office again, and I will make sure I tell everyone I know.
Went there with my two female cats to get neutered they did a wonderful job my daughter said the place was very clean inside and the staff were wonderful thank you so much for treating my cats like they were your own, The doctor even came out to talk to my daughter about the female cat, thank you from Margaret. Went a week later with my two male kittens and received the same kindness as i did the first time, thank you

I have 6 cats. All rescues that I couldn't part with. Twin Oaks took care of spaying and neutering and shots. I recently had one cat, Tiger, diagnosed with lymphoma. The doctor advised me of all of my options and treated Tiger as best we could. After he was gently put to sleep I received a beautiful card with a small paper heart that contained wildflower seeds to plant in Tiger's memory. I was so touched by their kindness. I will alway bring my cats to Twin Oaks and recommend them to anyone who needs a vet
July 22, 2016 my husband brought a feral cat we named "Bolly" to be neutered to this hospital, first time experience for us to help these wild but lovable creatures. The experience turned out to be so traumatic for us i spent the next 3 days crying wishing that maybe we should taken more time researching the many veterinary hospital and asked for a good post surgery instructions. Bolly did not recover from the surgery, was not able to get up, his hind legs looked like it was paralyzed when we released him around midnight.
Our neighbor found him alive the following day seeing his condition thought that he was ran over by a car and called Bergen County Animal Control. Maybe a car hit him but then he would have died being already weak.CLAWS paid for the surgery but we were committed to pay whatever the cat needed to survive. I am not blaming Twin Oaks Vet. Hospital because i really do not know what happened but i would like the readers to know that the person who answered my phone call Cathy sounded rude and seemed like she didn't have time to talk to me. She only became sympathetic when i told her that the cat died.
The Bergen County Animal Rescue program pays for neutering and shots for feral animals if you take them here. I was a little afraid of the place having read bad reviews, but I have to say they did very well by the two that I brought in, some months apart. Both cats I brought were completely feral, but the vets seem to know just how to handle them. The second cat I brought was actually pregnant, and they handled it without objection. They give extremely professional printed info on what procedures they performed, and are able to tell you exactly how old your animal is. They tip the ears subtly without mutilating the cat. I would have no hesitation using them again for this purpose.
I was referred to twin oaks by friends and brought my boxer "Bailey" here. They were amazing to him and they made us feel really confident. Now I am just leaving here from having my kitten "poppy cat" neutered and they were amazing once again. And the cost is super fair especially for the excellent service. Thank you to the whole staff you are all very much appreciated. From The LaLicata Family
