Wonderful campground whether you're just there to go camping or doing water sports or hiking. The restrooms and showers were renovated a few years ago and are much nicer now and are kept up pretty well.

Great place , great time . Even when it's raining. Facilities and staff is always been real helpful. Baths are always clean and sites are in good shape. Always have a good chance to see the local wildlife. Great place for walking and cycling, trails are pretty well kept up.. And access to the lake is good. Easy in and out , to the hwy. and not to far from Morehead.

This is one of our favorite campgrounds. We try to come here at least once a year. It's very relaxing and refreshing. The lake is low because they are putting another boat ramp in.

My family goes at least once a year & we have a great time every time. The trails are beautiful & there is plenty of wildlife to see. The beach is clean & the bath house is huge.

We camped here in July and had a double site, J9. The site was beautiful and we could even get a glimpse of the lake through the trees. Even though the campground was full, it was clean and very quiet after 10:00 PM. The bathrooms were cleaned several times a day and were very nice. There were trails that led down to the lake which made it easy to put in our kayaks from the campground. We also swam in the lake from the campground. The lake is clean with crystal clear water. We even saw a bald eagle while out kayaking. Will definitely come back and will recommend to others.

We had a great time camping at Twin Knobs. The facilities were the cleanest, most well maintained we've ever seen. The sites are level, clean and offer a good degree of privacy and the staff were all friendly and helpful.

I am disabled with RSD in my whole left side. Water and swimming helps me a lot, so I took my grandkids and my daughter and niece to cave run lake for the day. I was walking out in the water about upper leg deep and ran into a concrete anchor, with a rebar pipe in a V shape sticking out of the concert anchor. My toe got stuck in the V shaped rebar pipe and it throw me face down over the concrete anchor. Which in turn scratches my bad leg. Not a bad scratch but hurts like hell on my leg with RSD. So I now have a broken big toe and a concert scratch on my bad leg. We marked the anchor by tying a raft to it and went and got help.
Well come to find out they know it was in there somewhere. I told them what happened. They thanked me for finding it, but never once said are you ok. How bad are you hurt. I have a red line across my foot where the rebar caught my toe and broke it. But they did NOT care.
Then there was a beach patrol girl there that was RUDE and mouthy. Not a nice person at all.
It cost me &20 to get two car loads in that day, just to get hurt and have a rude beach patrol girl to deal with.

They did not care to find the anchor before people got to the beach. They where glad when a old crippled lady got hurt finding it for them, but did not care to ask how bad I was hurt. RUDE people will not go back there. Not at all worth the money on a good day.

A very clean and well run facility as are most US Forest Service properties I've been to. Twin Knobs has great views and access to CAVE RUN LAKE KY I have been here nearly a dozen times over the years, both family and group outings, and have enjoyed my stay every time very high marks!

We learned many great camping lessons. When camping in the fall, never camp under an oak tree full of acorns! We were bombed all night! After moving to a safer spot, we realized that Cave Run Lake is too choppy to kayak on. Lesson number two, pay one night at a time. We left early. The campsites are nice, but too close together for our liking. I do like that they are spread out. Each campground has its own personality.
