I have been coming here for years, the food has always been great but the wait staff can definitely be hit and miss. Went last night with a large party and was very disappointed to see the menu and food has changed down to the bread they serve. I was there two months ago as well and it has changed since then.
The new manager said they are shifted their menu to accommodate more families. I am anxious to see the new menu as we had an interim menu last night.
If the menu stays as it was last night unfortunately we won't be returning.
Nice little restaurant. Smoke flavoring is a bit over-powering on the Salmon
Food was excellent, service was average, not a busy night. Would come back because of food selections and quality.
I can't give a review on the food at this restaurant as my group spent our entire time there in the bar. We requested a table when we got there and were informed that it would be a couple of minutes for them to accommodate our group of 8, sooooooooo we headed to the bar to wait. 30 minutes later we returned and asked the hostess for an estimated amount of time before we'd be seated and were told that the tables were ready but they had just seated a bunch of people and they wanted to be able to pay attention to us right away when we sat down, all right, back to the bar. 30 minutes later.we looked into the dining room and there were no tables empty and we left and ordered pizzas.
I used to be a long-term regular customer for Tuscany for about 6 years. I loved the food, atmosphere, and the staff. I also enjoyed the former male manager who was always friendly. His positive demeanor added more joy in the dining experience. A lot of customers liked him as well, and we were all friends with him. However, I learned that he resigned in early 2016, and this middle-aged (somewhat obese) female manager was assigned. She was quite opposite from him. I never saw her being friendly to the customers or workers. She was rather looking upset and grumpy every time I ate at the restaurant. I witnessed a few times this woman manager was making aggressive, toxic comments to her workers. My friends whom I used to go there with noticed that, too. We also saw her drinking glasses of wine during her working hours. As soon as she became the manager, things started to change negatively. My favorite bartender whom I knew for years resigned due to the manager's abusive attitude, and the competent chef was let go. I stopped seeing the pianist who provided pleasant music. I used to talk with the staff there, so I was aware of what went on. I realized how such pleasant dining experience can turn into a more gloomy, negative one. The good food was no longer tasting good without friendly staff. So I stopped going there. They may have a different manager now hopefully, but I highly recommend the owner of this restaurant train the manager more thoroughly especially being a hospitality industry. It can hurt the business. I guess it already has because they lost myself and my friends as customers. I also heard some other people stopped going there as well for the same reasons.
Always great food and service.
Everything tasted great and was cooked to perfection. Wait staff was good and very pleasant. Chef is cool. Very enjoyable dining experience!
Good food and drinks
Great atmosphere and was less crowded. Had the Steak Diane. It was well cooked and very good.
Food: 4 stars (try their Friday night baked fish, it's worth it!)
Drinks: 4 stars
Atmosphere: 2-3 stars
Service: 3 stars
Over all I give it a four. I've been to this restaurant about 4 times now. The layout of the place is a little odd. It feels like you're in a hotel. The first two times I went the wait staff wasumm confused or new. They couldn't find a highchair for the table next to us and the poor family had to wait like 15 minutes for them to find one. The last two visits they seemed to have things sorted out. The food is tasty. I recommend their Friday night fish or seafood linguine. The bar is a cozy with soft lighting and I've always enjoyed their drinks. They had live music each time I was there and the pianist was very talented and had a great voice. If they could update the layout and give the place a more modern feel I think they would be "the place to go" in Fitchburg.
My girl and I ate here last night and had an amazing time. It was beautiful and quiet at 7pm, we ordered a few drinks that were made perfectly, had the braised clams and muscles for an appetizer ( cooked to perfection ), and for a main course she had the seafood linguine (the taste was spot on, the sauce was creamy and covered the entre, some small shell pieces made it hard to chew through the linguine though). For myself I ordered the seared tenderloin (I ordered it medium rare and it came just that way, the cut was tender with strong seasoning, it paired nicely with the steamed vegetables served on the side.) We will definitely be back!
Read reviews before trying and, unfortunately, they were spot on. Food was quite good. Service terrible.
