Our first beer that we got here was poured very quickly but the subsequent beers that we ended up having took forever to order. Seems like the staff is Young and not properly trained. There wasn't many people here so the service shouldn't have been as slow as it was. Other than that the place looks really cool and it seem like a nice environment.

We just finished dining at your establishment. I must say it was the worst dining experience of my life. The food was atrocious as well as the service. Bad enough we had to eat in the cellar. My prime rib dinner was cold, my niece ordered the fish and chips which was total grease. We ordered a salad which never came. We were offered additional fries since ours were cold and they which never came.

We ordered dinner at 6:00 and our soup didn't come until 7:00 and it was freezing cold.

Every table was complaining about their food.

Upon us leaving, there was a couple that was entering the restaurant and we told them leave rundo not eat at your establishment.

The bathrooms were so dirty.

It's obvious that they cannot handle the amount of people entering their establishment. Don't waste your time or money!!!!!

Took over an hour to get food, even when we told them we had theatre tickets. Burger was burnt and then they offered to take off part of meal after bill was paid. Won't go there again.

Pub atmosphere with ample dining area space. Good food and excellent service. A couple of veggie items on the menu, thier veggie burger was excellent.

The one time I had a burger here, it was quite good. The beer selection is also quite good. If you're looking for a great night life feel, I would go elswhere

Came here for a burger and I got a burger alright. I ordered the stuffed cheeseburger that has bacon and fried onions and Swiss cheese all stuffed into the burger. Bartender very nice and polite, quick service. Visiting from Michigan and will definitely be back here next time I'm in New Brunswick!

Shame.going here for 20 years. First time I have been back since it changed ownership. My intuition was correct. This is a text book case of not to change something that works. The new restaurant is horrendous. Gone is the warm run atmosphere, now a cold chain restaurant look. We always rated the Tumulty hamburger in our top 3 in NJ. The burgers we had were nasty. Dry. I will never return. Guaranteed, this place will eventually go under. We were there on a Friday night, and only a handful of people were there. Not a good sign. Why why why do owners feel a need to change something that works?

Good sandwiches and burgers in a rustic modern feel restaurant/bar. 3 sports tvs behind the bar. Great place for Sunday afternoon baseball or meet up with friends. Family friendly. Handicap accessible. Newly updated decor. Party room available.

Newly renovated and feels "new". Give it some time to gain some charm back. Friendliest bartender ever. We were there on a Sunday afternoon. Don't know his name but he was great! Pretty sure he had a mustache.

Traditional Irish pub that's great for comfort food. Recently renovated, the restaurant has more spacious seating and a larger bar area. Guinness stew or French dip sandwiches never disappoint. The desserts, although not fancy, are surprisingly good as well.

Used to be a 5-Star classic Public House, now turned bar which is trying to be a modern tavern. The location recently changed ownership from the original owners to a new couple. Unfortunately, the remodeling took away a lot of the charm that made it a classic public house and expanded the bar so there is less seating.

The food however is the BEST pub food around and the drinks are fantastic as usual, mostly due to there still being the same chefs and bartenders from the old ownership. Another loss was the amazing specials for entrees and deserts which Tumulty's was famous for. The performance space which frequently had performances (including weekly jazz) is now being replaced for a private event space, which is understandable, but still a loss.

All in all, it's nice to see some upkeep done to the place, but the removal of the classic, private wood booths and changing of the lighting make the place feel more hollow and less personal, which was the charm of the old layout. It's not the old Tumulty's you remember and would not be somewhere I would travel out of my way for anymore. However, if I happen to be in the area, it's still some of the best food and drink you can get for a reasonable price on George Street in New Brunswick.
