Very nice looking complex. Went here for Sunday brunch at Red Dunn for my sister's birthday. Nice modern design. Food was very good, and the wait staff was great. Will have to check out the outdoor patio area in warmer weather. Would definitely consider staying here for downtown events. Worth checking out.
A big improvement from the old Corktown hotel. This is my second stay and renovations are coming along. Though, there is still some construction outside. The fire pit looks like it's going to be nice. Staff is friendly. The rooms are a little sparsely furnished and the bathrooms could be better. Overall, it's an affordable option in a re-emerging neighborhood.
I love the look, feel, vibe, flow, mood, everything about this hotel. Would for sure live here if they would let me. I don't live in Detroit but maybe I want to live there for a month just to stay here and soak it all in and write the best stuff I've ever written because it feels inspiring and sweet just to be here. Restaurant was extremely sweet, late night check-in person was good people, I just really really liked it and I know I know I'm not playing it cool right now but I have a huge crush on this place.
My second time staying:
Stayed at Trumbull and Porter for the second time last weekend. The weather was the worst, but everything about this hotel was the opposite. I would like to give everyone who works here a million roses and a large gift card to their favorite clothing store. I just feel like I'm living my best life here and I can't quite put my finger on why. It might be because of the way, way above average decor or the efficient layout or the outside seating. I wanted to take the robe home with me but I felt bad - so you know this place is special because I collect hotel robes.
We stayed one night here at the Trumbull and Porter Hotel in Detroit. It was much different than any hotel we have ever stayed at. It has a much different and unique feel but in a good way. We had a door that went out to a patio with a large grass area. This would be perfect for kids. It had a clean and comfortable bed that my husband loved. The parking lot was gated, and we appreciated that. It was less than a five minute drive to the little Caesars arena. Checking in and out was quick and easy. We didn't have a chance to try the restaurant but it looked very nice and had lots of options. We would defiantly recommend this hotel to others!
Stayed the night last week. Was actually surprised how well the place was re done. The bar area and food were excellent. Staff was friendly. Rooms are simple but perfect if your just looking to crash. Would stay again
Functionally chic. An added asset to the comfortable atmosphere, pleasant staff and affordable room rate in the Corktown area adjacent to Detroit's downtown district. Treat yourself to a jewel infused weekend retreat with walking distance eateries and attractions. Or dine in the Red Dunn Kitchen where you will be sufficiently fed amidst an array of brews, wines and a variety interesting dinning delights. Book your stay soon; as a holiday treat or a small getaway.
Ignite Hospitality Services would like to thank Trumbull and Porter for having our client Comedian David Liebhart. Your artisan boutique hotel is a simple, yet personalized – just a beautiful hotel. Make sure you stop by their restaurant and bar; you won’t be disappointed. Also, feel free to bring your furry friends! The utmost respect was provided by all staff.
SUCH A COOL SPOT.
Trumbull and Porter is totally modern, totally cool and very welcoming. The rooms are designed simply and artistically. The beds were great and offered comfort and style all at the same time.
They have a coffee shop downstairs and a bar and both are as cool as any spot in Detroit (or elsewhere), the patio is really beautiful and they have live shows on the weekends.
Honestly, you may not want to leave.
Trumbull and Porter was a beautiful modern hotel with an awesome on site coffee shop as well as restaurant and bar. The staff were friendly and very efficient at check in and check out and provided us with extra towels and toiletries when we needed them. The room was very comfortable and the modern yet still cozy furnishings will appeal to your inner Scandinavian. The room also came with great terry cloth tones to enjoy during your stay. Classy!
The hotel has a hip feel to it. A feeling that if you're not sporting a full beard, you're out of place. The bar staff are great! But.... they sell "craft beer only" but they have Budweiser on tap?!?!? I am far from a beer snob. I wanted a light beer (Miller lite, ultra, Coors light) and they had NOTHING, but they claim to only carry craft beer, and they had Bud on tap. Very disappointed that I could t enjoy a few beers I could enjoy with friends.
The rooms were okay, considering it's a remodeled hotel. Doors need trimmed so they can close without a lot of force. The concrete floor in the room was different, I wasn't a fan of it.
Again, okay hotel. They will find their Mitch. But for me, a good simple beer before bed is important.
If you're looking for the New Detroit experience, this is your place to stay. Super tasteful and hip through and through this hotel has all the usual perks PLUS the tasteful renovations and design that the American Young Professional appreciates. John, at the desk is also one of the nicest desk people I've come across, really makes you feel like royalty
I had a fantastic stay at the Trumbull and Porter in downtown Detroit. The hotel is new and in good condition. My room included a robe and slippers, comfortable beds with clean linen, and a shower with a glass door. The lobby is very nice and has a coffee shop, marketplace for food, and bikes you can rent. The hotel is located in downtown Detroit so you're just minutes away from most popular destinations.
The Trumbull & Porter is a must stay in Detroit for a variety of reasons. The hotel offers gated parking which is always provides a little bit extra peace of mind. It was a late night check-in, but you would have thought it was two o'clock in the afternoon based on how quick and on the ball the guy behind the front desk was on his game. Quick, informative and extremely efficient.
At this point, I have been traveling on the road for the past few months staying at a wide variety of hotels and I have not seen a hotel room quite like the one at the Trumbull & Porter. The room combines a simple yet modern style to the decor and set-up of the room. Very beautiful and unique.
The lobby has a really fine coffee bar. It also provides a room with a variety of late snacks which is always appreciated by the late check-in hotel guest. The one and only drawback was that there was a little bit of construction that was going on during my stay, but I can't wait to see it completed when I stay there again. And I will be staying at the Trumbull & Porter in Detroit, MI. again. No doubt.
This hotel is very chic and modern. The staff is extremely kind and the snacks are $1! They have toothbrushes for free if you forgot yours and there is a robe and slippers in each room for your comfort. Their channel selection is great, the room comes with everything you NEED and nothing extra. I love this hotel and will definitely be back!
The decor is very boutique style, hip and modern with clean decor and a gift shop focusing on local artisans. It is not your standard property which is refreshing and memorable . When we stayed at this hotel it was under renovation and the city had a ban on drinking water at the time. Both of these things would generally a stay less than desirable but despite this the staff and management were extremely accommodating. The management left us a personally addressed note in our room and a bottle of fresh water and they served fresh donuts in the lobby to compensate for their lack of coffee due to the city wide water issue. You can tell this hotel is going to be very upscale and a designer property once the renovations are complete and the construction did not get in the way of our stay at all. No extra noise or obstacles.
