TOY DOCTOR - LITTLETON, CO 8061 S BROADWAY
October 01, 2017
After over a decade of doing business with this store (2 CARS), I came to trust the business enough to send my wife (first time) in for an oil change and new wipers on her 4-Runner. She comes back with an additional charge of $65 for replacement of the cabin air filter, , , that I had replaced less than three (YES, , , 3) months
before! Even the store's invoice stated "the cabin filter (STARTING TO GET DIRTY)".
To make this incident more annoying, I had discussed this appointment over the phone detailing very specifically what was to be done, before my wife took the car in. I was assured nothing else would be done unless I approved it.
The filter replaced, was less than 3 months, and less than 1000 miles in service on a car driven only in the city, and always garaged! Further, , , the access to the filter was tagged with a replacement date sticker! It is clear to me that the filter was not even looked at because the replacement date sticker could not be missed,
, ,NO WAY! Did they show my wife a DIRTY FILTER they keep around for when a lady, any / all ladies show up?? When I discussed this issue the next day at the store, they could not come up with the replaced cabin air filter! How many customers have been ripped off by this "honest" business??
I've never had any doubts about how WOMEN get abused, violated, conned, and taken advantage of! Now that I have experienced it close to home, I find it even more appalling, atrocious, disgraceful, deplorable, than I ever knew I could be capable of feeling. I always thought this business was trustworthy - NOT anymore!
Long story short folks, I would not recommend this shop. Great customer interaction skills paired with unreasonable quotes and typical mechanic “salesmanship.” What seemed like a really friendly and honest Toyota specialty repair shop does not live up to expectations. I am quite an experienced backyard mechanic and brought my wife’s truck here to repair a bothersome issue that quite frankly, I just didn’t have the time to mess with. Gave a detailed description of the problem and repairs already performed and receive an estimate of close to $700 to simply tighten 6 spark plugs (which were set to Toyota spec by torque wrench) and swap two coil packs (which had already been isolated away from the issue from previous repairs.) Decide to take the car home after the high priced quote and for kicks and giggles decide to get the repairs done with OEM parts as they were confident this was issue. Had the work done in 20 minutes first of all and low and behold CEL on again the next day. Coil packs were certainly not the issue as I suspected but this proved to me that they did not perform any real troubleshooting and were not honest in their recommendations for repair. I will never return here and I hope others think twice before taking vehicles here.
I have only great things to say about Toy Doctor so far. I took my 2000 Toyota Camry into a different service center on Wadsworth and got the normal “little woman” treatment and a list of services with no explaination. After doing a bit of research I took that list and found the Toy Doctor. They took the time to explain and show me the parts of everything that they replaced. Every single step of the process was explained with care and understanding. I also got a ride back to my house (which isn’t close!) free of charge. At the end of my appointment I received a written explanation of everything that was performed, a warranty on what was done, and suggestions for service down the road. He wasn’t pushy and was willing to take the extra time to explain where and when these services should be done. (he even told me when there was one that would be cheaper elsewhere)
Two days later when it got cold my brake light started flickering. They let me come in with almost no notice and checked it out/added brake fluid for no charge.
There was absolutely nothing but respect and care shown to me at the Toy Doctor and my 16 year old Toyota is running great! Thanks :)
*update: they have since replaced my entire front brake system, again, amazing service and offered me a loaner car to drive as mine was inoperable over the weekend :)
Awesome honest place to take your Toyota to! Great prices and they know what their doing! Won't take my Toyota any where else.
As the old adage goes, you get what you pay for. They're a little more expensive, but they know what they're doing when it comes to Toyota and Lexus. I had 120k maintenance done, they explained everything and did a very good job. Still going 4 months later and haven't had any issues. They did advise me to get a new CV boot soon, which I still haven't done (my own fault). There was also a squeak that had been driving me nuts for about a year that 2 of my mechanic friends I and spent hours trying to sort out, still couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Toy Doc fixed it and lemme tell ya, I'm very grateful for it!
Rare honest mechanics & a nice clean shop, highly recommend! I live in Oregon and had recently changed out the diff, t case etc fluids on my 4Runner. While in Denver over the holidays I had Toy Doctor check out an issue, and while diagnosing they confirmed all the fluids etc were up to date without knowing the history of the vehicle; meaning they actually checked the fluids and didn't try to upsell me unneeded repairs. Since then two different dealerships have tried to sell me diff & t case services while I'm in for an oil change because they obviously don't check the fluids first.
If you drive a Toyota or a Lexus, Toy Doctor is the place to go. A good Mechanic shop is hard to find, especially if you already hate car repairs. That said: Toy Doctor's Friendly, Experienced and knowledgeable staff make it all a little easier. And the customer care shuttle/ride service, complete with a pleasant and safe driver, made getting repairs much less inconvenient. I still hate having to fix my car; but these guys might make me forget that.

Excellent place to receive services. For almost two years I have been going to Toy Doctor for maintenance care and each time I am just as impressed with the first. My husband is an engineer so when I initially went he was skeptical of the parts they would use and recommendations. Not anymore. They use original manufactured parts, provide a great analysis on how your vehicle is running with future needs that will be coming up. No scare tactics or crisis mode mentality. The best part of Toy Doctor on Broadway is their honesty! In addition to their competitive pricing, knowledge and very friendly atmosphere. Keep up the great work and bring your car/SUV/truck to them for service - you will be amazed at their quality and pricing.
I have taken my 2010 RAV4 and my son's 2006 Scion here for years and am impressed by the customer service and honesty of this shop. Major "watch for" recommendations have been confirmed by Go Toyota when I have been to the dealership for factory recalls. My husband is so impressed that he is seriously considering purchasing a Lexus as his next car. I spread the word about Toy Doctor whenever possible because I believe that a good business deserves a good word.
Took my 4runner in because I needed a milestone maintenance and they gave me by far the lowest quote out of anyone I called. In addition, when they found some issues in the car, I was told the severity of each issue, so I didn't feel as if they were trying to just keep selling me parts I didn't need. Got the car fixed much faster than I expected, as well! I will definitely be going back when I need something next.
