This is a wonderful zoo if you're looking for something to do for an hour or 2. Small enough even toddlers can walk the whole thing but enough animals and other things to do to be entertaining, even if you've been here 100 times! They are in the process of adding on right now which blocks the path to the lions but I'm excited to see all the new things this summer!

I don't know what these other reviews are talking about! The Topeka Zoo was awesome the time I went. Very affordable like a small zoo should be, but also a had a great variety of large and small animals.

It is home to 2 Hippos (including a baby)! Not normal for a small town zoo to have these awesome creatures! Also home to Giraffes, Elephants, Tigers, Lions, Mountain Lions, a Black Bear, Gorillas, Orangutans (including a newborn), an Albino Crocodile, and much much more.

That list is impressive for a big city zoo (No zoo in Chicago has Hippos or Elephants!), let alone the tiny city of Topeka!

However, the most interesting thing about this zoo in my opinion was all the local and non typical zoo animals that it had. Things like skunks and leeches and about 5 different kinds of tarantulas! There is a freaky insect building and a pretty cool rain forest dome with free roaming Flamingos, Scarlet Macaws, and other birds.

When we were in Topeka, we used to visit Topeka Zoo pretty much every three months. Fun filled place. Clean and neat. Zoo has very great exhibits.

Went in November 2017. Some of it was under construction, however the rest of the zoo was nice. It was clean and all the staff were very nice.

Came here with my husband just to kill some time and we enjoyed ourselves much more than we expected! Animals are very active. Wish it was bigger, we saw all the animals in a little over an hour. They are expanding and we plan to go back once the construction is finished. $5 well spent.

Great rain forest and hippo habitat. I also love the bears. And the Orangutains, they are always quite entertaining and funny.
Once in the '90's I went to the Topeka Zoo and actually got to see a giraffe be born. It was very awesome.
They also have a great park with a train and carousel. Fun for all ages.

The zoo is very kid friendly. Our 15 month old daughter loved it although I don't think she really knew what was going on. We also enjoyed the train as well as the huge park in front of the zoo. Looking forward to visiting the zoo again soon. Membership is a great deal for families from the Topeka area too.

Nice little zoo, has a building project going on so some animals are not on display. Great place to go to enjoy nature.

We enjoyed spending the day at the Topeka Zoo. It is a day trip for us and well worth the effort. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. The animals are well cared for and there are many shaded benches to rest.

This is a great zoo for the price. It seems pretty kid friendly. There's a big park across from the entrance/ parking lot where a lot of people were having lunch. There were several exhibits being cleaned so some of the animals were unavailable to see. They could also use more maintenance/ landscaping, but I'm guessing it is a funding issue. It was a fun little stop on my day trip through Topeka.

This zoo is perfect for our little kids. Omaha zoo is better (obviously) but pretty intimidating to bring an energetic 2 year old. But this one is small and easier to walk through. There's a fun playground for them to play and parents to take a break. And it's cheap to get in.
