Great self tour layout and artifacts. Neat history in Tombstone and definitely interesting characters.
Huge musty historic building. The stories are amazing. Fun. In a town where you can see so much, I am glad we didn't exclude this, for lack of time. Not the bells and whistles of Disneyland but it was really fun to include in a day of great adventures.
Tons of knowledge from great folks. Great displays. Well worth the visit!
This is quite frankly one of only a few attractions in town that isn't a total tourist trap. Sadly, most of Tombstone has been completely overtaken by melodramatic gunfight reenactments, "ghost" tours, and overpriced souvenir shops. If you want a peek at the authentic history of "the town too tough up die", then this is your place.
The displays are informative and well put together, if at times a little dry. The famed O.K. Corral gunfight is well covered of course, but so are a host of other notable events and personalities. After all, the Earps and Clantons were certainly not the only people to leave their mark on this little boomtown! Be sure not to miss the courtyard with its gallows. They are of course reconstructed, but it's still a very evocative sight.
$7 is definitely a reasonable price for this slice of history. Just keep in mind that it does get a little toasty on hot days and carry water with you.
For history buffs, those interested in the real old west, or anyone who wants a break from the touristy main drag, this museum is a must.
Only 5 bucks to visit. Re-entry good all day. Find out frame by frame about famous gun fights. See the court room and where it all went down in the gallows when you did wrong.
Saw the courthouse but did not go inside due to the cost. They wanted $7 a head to get inside. We felt this to be high for a small museum. We took some nice pictures outside though.
Lots of information and interesting displays. What we found in Tombstone, though were many contradictory statements about the events and people, particularly the gunfight. Still, unless you're completely OCD about details, it's a great place to visit.
Went here & toured both floors. People working were nice but didn't offer any extra tour info. No air conditioning so very warm & stuffy, had fans blowing but simply created noise. The floors were dirty & dusty and the carpet going upstairs was also. It appears to have been sometime since any carpet was vaccumed. Just know if it's a hot day this $8 self guided walk-through will be a little tough to stand.
Went to Tombstone, AZ on vacation. Took time to visit the Tombstone courthouse museum. We stepped back in time, sitting in the same courthouse where so many old west hero's and villains spent time. It is a two story structure open daily, from 9am - 5pm. Built in the shape of a Roman cross. Features O. K. Corral exhibit, plus. There are many interesting antiques. Step out to the courtyard and see the gallows replica. Gift shop has many interesting books for sale.
What a great museum! Unfiltered access into documents that depict the life of the Wild West. Wonderful learning experience.
Great history and awe inspiring experience. So much great history.
Very cool museum you will see a lot of neat stuff its for sure worth the money.
This town is such a throwback to the history of the west. Very educational and fun. Plan to visit all the historical buildings and enjoy shopping too. Have fun with the shootout! Don't forget to check out Boot Hill. Admission is just a donation to help pay for upkeep.
Impressive display of History. Place its interesting and brings you back to past time, great adventure and experience for American Arizona History!
