  It's clean & seem well maintained. Restaurant with ice cream & snacks windows close at this time of day 11:45 am.

  Lots of trails and biodiversity. Most of the trails, aside from sand road hikes, are rugged. The Florida Trail passes through. You can catch the FL-T at the dam or at the Lake Jackson boat launch/camp area. There are many off trail interest areas, recommend long pants to cover the legs, plenty of water (est. 1 bottle for every 75 minutes -assuming you start hydrated), hunter orange/colored hat, hiking boots, and bug spray. There will be hunters out there most of the timemake yourself visible and respect their space. Excellent adventure. I usually allow 4-5 hours before dark or I stay on the sand roads. It can be easy to get lost even with the blazers (white, blue and orange per trail). There is storm damage on the trails and some minor detours/walk arounds may be warranted.

  Beautiful, clean, great fishing! BUT campground 60 filled to the brim during first week of hunting season. ALL Rvs and generators.

  Make sure you check the hunting seasons before going. We went in May while it was still dry and no hunters. Roads are open all year and are a shell/sand road. We ride hybrid bikes and had no trouble other than its a bit bumpy with the washboard like roads. Would be more comfortable on a mountain bike. Lots of birds. Heard quail, lots of vultures, saw a Caracara on the ground walking around and feeding. Lots of osprey. Sections are wooded and sections are the wide open "dry" prairie. Wear sunscreen and bug spray. The only toilets are at the boat ramp and group camping areas.

  Great place for Birding & Nature Watching and getting away from it all. Lots of sand roads, in reasonable condition, 4 wheel drive not required

  Great to get out and escape city living. Hard pack single tracks for vehicles. Caters to hunters and hikers. Not much 4-wheeling. Respect the WMA property and don't destroy shit. Leave the place nicer than you found it, even if it means picking up other people's trash. Respected access is open access. Stay the trails and watch out for hogs and free range cattle.

  Gorgeous. Lots of hiking and great camping areas. Pit toilets only. The lakes are overflowing with wildlife.

  Great for primitive camping. Pit toilets only. Grill and picnic table at lake Marion site. My favorite campground.
