I had a reservation for 630 to celebrate my mother's birthday. Upon arrival at 628, I was informed that my party had arrived. When we got to the table the people seated there were definitely not family members. We returned to the hostess counter and the girl preceded to tell me we didn't have a reservation. I said I called this morning for the birthday. There had been some confusion which I know can happen at any establishment. So we were understanding because we know the restaurant business. We were seated outside on the deck which on a normal day in Florida would be ok but tonight was a little chilly for our liking. So we had requested for a table inside. It took almost an hour for a table to be ready. The poor waitress we had was trying her hardest to make it work and this is in no way a reflection of her. We finally ordered our food. They manager or who ever had our poor waitress running all over God's good creation so it took her awhile to get back to us. We needed drinks so my husband went to the bar to order them. It took what seemed like forever to get them. When you're thirsty you're thirsty! I finally had to practically beg them for the food for the 2 children we had in tow this evening. By this time it is an hour and a half after our scheduled reservation. They did bring the kids food out but the adults took an additional half an hour. I finally stared down at my 2 pathetic crab cakes and handful of rice over 2 hours after our reservation. My mom's order was not correct and my husband's was cold. He politely asked for it to be warmed up and they put it in the microwave! (He went to culinary school so he can tell the difference!) At that point we were just done. I feel so bad for my mother. It was her birthday and she really wanted to go to this establishment. I will not recommend this place to anyone. The food was not bad but for the price I paid I could get better at yellow dog or river rocks. I'm sorry to say we will not be back. We paid our bill in full and did not ask for any discounts. They were supposed to sing and give a brownie for the birthday and needless to say that didn't happen either. I don't usually post stuff like this but I feel it is important to share our experience. Oh and the topping on the cake was when we walked out to our car the car next to us had parked so crooked my husband had to back out so we could get in the passenger side.

Waited over 45 minutes for our main course after we had finished our appetizer, and our coleslaw. Won't go back. Very expensive for the amount of food on the plate

My first visitinsanely slow. We had a party of five and we were there three hoursfood was mediocre, I had coconut shrimp. Six shrimp with some kind of cold "mango" sauce, a small side of rice ,and a salad with tasteless "house" dressing $18.99 ish. I can't speak for the rest of the party but heard no raves Service was okay, she was doing the best she could considering the food wasn't coming out of the kitchen. The place was maybe 2/3 full the entire time we were there. I will not be back. I've had much better food at the price (on the water) in half the time.

Back to the Shack after a long absence. My wife and I stopped in on a Friday evening. The restaurant is old Florida decor with a really wonderful view of the Indian River. We were seated promptly at a great table, inside, overlooking the river. There is screened porch seating as well. A musician played quietly outside. We found two sets of friends already there. We had a Captain's Platter and a Haddock Dijonaise, salad, cole slaw, warm bread, wine and beer. We ate up our yummy food, able to enjoy ourselves in the quiet, lovely restaurant. They have a full bar and a great menu. Our bill was 77$ including the tip. We will be back.

We LOVE it here. Great staff, amazing food. BlackBerry margaritas are to die for. The seafood dip is outstanding and my favorite dish by far is the stuffed flounder. This is our go to place for special occasions or date night.

Great service and very friendly staff. The food was fantastic. A-1. My husband had the Jambalaya that was delicious. My shrimp Scampi w/linguine was one of the best. 👍🏻👍🏻

Look no further, THIS is the best place to eat! Delicious food, wonderful scenery looking right into the water. The key lime pie and coffee for dessert was out of this world fantastic! All of the seafood was delicious. Server was super nice, and efficient. It's definitely a place I will go to again!
