Our favorite place to eat on the island. I know it's touristy but this place is worth the effort. There hush puppies are the best and everything on the menu is delicious. Salty Dogwood can be super crowded at times so if you don't like that just go on an off time. If you are on the island you need to visit the Dog.

Drove from Savannah to eat here because their website said they were dog friendly. That would make sense given the name. We paid $6 for access and drove about 7 miles through a neighborhood to arrive. They have an entire shopping complex dedicated to their namesake. We were told the dogs were not welcome and we could order food to go and eat in a courtyard around back by the restrooms. We didn’t have much choice after the time it took to get there. Not cool Salty. Fix your website. Make sure people don’t waste the time or money if they have dogs with them.

Salty Dog had great food and views, probably my favorite seafood all week. Our server was the only downside to our visit. I really regretted not telling a manager about our server, but maybe she was just having a bad day. We all do sometimes. Other than the service, we loved it!

This has and will forever will be a place that we stop and eat at. I like to change up every time we visit. Today I had the pulled pork sandwich. I know what your thinking " Barbeque at a seafood restaurant ", right. It was actually pretty good. The drinks are always great! The staff has always been courteous and prompt with requests. We have probably visited the Salty Dog Cafe a hundred times. It's worth it!!

While we loved the place in the past this time around it was an unpleasant surprise. Their Shecrab chowder was better in the previous visits as well as my salad while the wife's fish sandwich was average. The real disappointment is that the prices are significantly higher than just last year while the quality and portion size has gone down. This was an old favorite but we are not likely to go back.

I had the fresh catch, grilled. It was vey good. I did not tolerate very spicy foods. I did notice the sauce had a little kick, but it complimented the flavor vet well. I mention this, because it may have been too spicy for my mother. The fresh vegetables were amazing. They were full of flavor. Hush puppies were great. The butter could have been a little softer but it had a nice sweetness and flavor to it.

Overall the restaurant was OK, not good or bad. The crab dip is good but tasted like something you could buy at a wholefoods. There pita chips where delicious though, fresh fried and amazing. Perhaps I set my hopes to high after reading all the other reviews. If you are staying int he Sea Pines resort area then i would recommend, I do not think it is worth the additional 6 dollars to get to the restaurant to eat there though.

Very fast seating and friendly staff! The food was great too! I got a blackened swordfish steak on a tasty bun and some coleslaw as a sidevery refreshing! We sat out on the peer and got to look at some beautiful scenery all while being serenaded by some live music (a local guitarist).

I arrived around 12:18 on a Wed. afternoon and had to wait around 45 mins to be seated inside. If the heat doesn't bother you then you can be seated right away because they have a plethora of outdoor seating. It took us about an hour to get our food. Which is reasonable for the
amount of people they where serving at that time. But the food was worth the wait! They remembered the word tender in "chicken tenders" and they where exquisite. Try it with the BBQ sauce and you have a great mix! I went into The Salty Dog Cafe thinking it was going to be over priced and over rated. But I was pleasantly surprised to find that I was wrong and the experience and meal was great.

Unfortunately, we've never had a good meal here. Long waits, sub-par food, and over priced. It always feels like a tourist trap to us. Much better places to eat at HHI.

This place is great. The portions were decent, the food was amazing and the wait staff was incredible. This should be on your places to eat if you are visiting or on vacation.

Very good food, nice quality. Not very many options on three children's menu. If your child doesn't want a pepperoni pizza or a yogurt parfait, don't bring them here. Staff is very nice and you have a nice view.

Maybe I went at the wrong time for wrong reason, but I had a pretty bad experience.

We went for dinner, the roads to get to this location are extremely dark at night and on top of that you have to pay $6 to get there (which is okay in the day where there are some more things to see in the area).

My wife ordered the jambalaya pasta which had chicken that tasted weird and one piece that did not seem very cooked. Since I was in the low country I had been craving a Low Country Boil. I ordered Jake's low country boil and was extremely disappointed.The corn that was presented was not cooked at all, Potatoes were underdone and very watery for some reason, Sausage was dried out like it had been sitting.the crab legs had been sitting for awhile based on taste, texture, and overall heat. I have to say worst low country boil I've ever had. The Crab Shack in Tybee Island , GA had the best and.now I'm wishing I had waited to go there.

I guess the lesson is to only come here for drinks. Though I've been here for lunch and it was good
