Great place to eat even if you come in many. Atmosphere was great. Waitresses was kind and generous. Will go there again.
An unforgettable experience, I drove down to Toledo from Michigan for the zoo. After getting done with the zoo, I had no idea where to go eat. I looked up local places in Toledo and found Tony’s. Little did I know that this place is really well known. My food was A+ and I had a great experience. I recommend this place to anyone and especially if you’re visiting and not familiar with Toledo’s restaurants.
Best hot dogs I’ve ever had. Stop at one of the locations every time I’m in town. This is my first trip to the original location and the atmosphere and history were great. Staff was friendly, smiled and were knowledgeable about the restaurant. Do yourself a favor and stop in for a Hungarian hot dog.
We had to go here since my husband was born in Budapest Hungary! Atmosphere was great with lots of memorabilia on the walls. We thought the food wasn't spicy enough for Hungarian but it was still good. Glad we got to experience this neat restaurant.
It's amazing how much money this guy has made off this simple premise yet he seems to not think he should put it back into the business which is kind of like a slap in the face to the customers who made him rich. But he sure as hell updated as menu prices in many times. A hotdog a cabbage roll and a little cup of chili is $13! This is insanity. Old smelly tables. When your premises hot dog you should be a little bit more lenient and loose. You're offering something that every single person can make on Earth.
You have not had a chili dog, till you have been here. 29 years ago, 2 friends of mine and I took our prom dates from Madison Ohio to here in a limo we had rented. Best prom dinner ever! I have been coming here ever since. I drive semi now and never pass Toledo without stopping. If your in the area, this place is a must!!! Great staff, great food!
Unique and delicious dishes. A decor like no other, full of history and stories. A must stop for any fans of the show MASH. The waitress Zelda was super friendly and went out of her way to make our dining experience enjoyable.
We stopped in while passing through Toledo. I was very impressed with the hot dogs and chili. That is a lot coming from me because I normally don't like hot dogs. The waitress we had was very nice. Prices are a little high but you get what you pay for. The ONLY reason for less than 5 stars was the staff outside. When I went back to the parking lot, a female staff member was leaning on the back of my Mustang chatting with the parking attendants! (This is a car that goes to shows) Not cool! There was plenty of other things to lean on. I will stop back - but please don't touch my car!
An old original that we stop at every time we are up this way. The food is consistently good, and of you've never been, check out the original; which is were we were a few weeks ago.
I have to say, I do not remember his name, but the 6 or so foot white male server we had was phenomenal. Patient with my hard of hearing sister, went above and beyond explaining everything, seamlessly refilled our party of 6's drinks and checked in promptly each step of the way throughout our meal. I'd offer this man a job if he were in my area, he knows customer service and provided better service than many upscale restaurants. At minimum get this man a position as a trainer, it will go a long way for the business.
I've been to several of the Tony Packo's places and the original is the best one to go to. All their food is awesome good! I'm hooked on 3-4 Tony Packo dogs with chili and fries, but the stuffed cabbage is excellent, the paprikash is almost as good as my dear mother-in-law's, God rest her soul, and the desserts are the perfect topper to what is always a great meal. The staff is super friendly, you never have to wait too long, and did I almost forget to mention the pickles??? Shame on me! The best dogs in the state, the best paprikash, and the friendliest staff. I just talked myself into going back there real soon!!
A great American classic. Enjoy Polish delights, and explore the signature bun collection, (it will make more sense when you see it). A great way to experience some fascinating Toledo history. And do get the fried pickles, they're delicious.
Love the ambiance inside. Beautiful stained glass lamps and bar decor. Hundreds of signed hot dog buns on the walls. Unique Hungarian style hot dog with all the toppings. It's a quick stop off the highway, but way better than fast food.
Tony Packo's has their dinning area and also has their bar area. The food here is wonderful and filling. If you want to go in for a full meal or just for a few drinks, you are welcome. They can accommodate one person or a group of people. I do suggest that if you have more than four to six people (during off hours), that you call ahead to let them know about how many so that they can try and prepare. I had a party of six at 6 pm and they were just able (at that time) to sit my party. About an hour later a party of about 24 came in and was seated behind us.
Gotta go for the ambience! Such a fun place! The hot dogs are AMAZING!! So many choices other than hot dogs too!! We enjoyed everything we ate. LOVED the interior! The signed hot dogs buns and photos we so cool! If you are in Toledo, you gotta stop here!!
