The cafe has a great view of the streaming on the side, with good coffee, and better muffins. Especially the chocolate with the vanilla swirl. The library has quiet places for you to get some quality work done. All in all, great place.
I absolutely loved the location! Not only that but the art, the restaurant and bookstore! So beautiful. However, I've never been so ill treated. The staff were rude, and severely lacking in polite customer service. My very first time going. I was so excited and so disappointed by the workers. I don't know if I'll be back.
Excellent atmosphere and friendly staff. I got two books at a great value. They have a lot of different sections. Its also a great place to study, get yourself a coffee and enjoy the scenic view. Truly, my favorite book store.
One of my favorite places in Massachusetts! Gorgeous quiet location - best tag line. Great place to wander, explore, grab a drink and enjoy the surroundings. Can't recommend it highly enough!
Such a quaint and cozy location! I love the quiet corners of the Bookmill for studying or just admiring. Got brunch with friends in the café, which has a pretty view. The food was good (got the tofu sandwich), but nothing exceptional. Still, the Bookmill itself is a gem.
I went here to work on some school work, there's a cafe and a bookstore with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Inside the cafe they have a "Laptop Free: 11-6pm Today" but there were plenty of people inside on their laptops. It's a very relaxing place, I recommend their tangerine ginger iced tea and their everything bagel.
People love this used book store. It's large and charming, and would be a good place to go alone on a rainy day. But it can get too crowded. Can be stuffy on warmer days. Not easy to get to the river.
Quaint and quiet, a true escape from reality. Very pleased with the books I found here and eagerly awaiting a return in other seasons. Don't forget to check out the view!
Yeahhh, look, this place is really cool. The whole atmosphere and where the place is physically located is great. Definitely recommend going here to just likesit. Or paint or read or whatever you like to do. If you're going to order food though, you're on your own. I ordered an everything bagel, toasted, with cream cheese. Pretty simple right? I guess not, I got a cold plain bagel with cream cheese. There weren't even any other people in the restaurant at the time. Although I'm not sure restaurant is an accurate description of this place. Cafe maybe? Anyway, they totally botched my order. I'm still kind of salty about it.
This is a place to plan on spending a lot of time, and not too much money. There is a LOT of variety in the locations with the books, and some v.cool seating options; without any standard pattern. The coffee counter is a bit pricey, but go ahead, and enjoy the treats as well.
Adorable book store. Go in with no plan in mind and just look around. I left with 5 eclectic books and had a great conversation with the shopkeeper! Wonderful, unexpected treasure!
Beautiful place: old books, an old mill, a raging brook, good food and coffee - all that tucked away in Western Massachusetts, no other place like that!
If you are looking for a place to sell your books, I do not recommend bringing them to the Bookmill. I arrived for an appointment and was met with quite cold reception and given very little for my books. I recommend that you donate your books to Salvation Army and take the tax deduction - not only more lucrative, but you will be helping people rather that padding the pockets of a place that made me feel like they were doing me some kind of favor.
If you love books, you will love the Bookmill. A really interesting building with lots of cozy places to sit and enjoy a book (or just enjoy the view out the window.) The grounds are delightful.
Really cool place. One of my favorite bookstores. Really beautiful location looking out on the water falling over the mill dam. Pretty good food and excellent and eclectic selection of books.
