It's sad to read all these bad (consistent) reviews from this lodge. My husband and I drove from WA here 2021 and had the best time of our life hidden gem ..BUT to read the new owners have turned this paradise into hell is heart breaking! Hopefully this beautiful lodge/location/scenery will be restored to the serenity oasis it once was, so that we are able to bring our family that includes children 😥!

We had our corporate retreat at The Lodge in September 2022. The venue, the staff, and the experience were exceptional. We rented the whole lodge which offered a great space for meetings as well as spaces for breakout conversations. We enjoyed The Lodge so much we didn't even leave, we spent our whole retreat just enjoying the amenities and the view!

I waited before reviewing so I could simmer down and align with my experience. You must understand that majority of the 5 star reviews are from previous owners! READ THE RECENTS!
I had my sisters 30th birthday here and we had to move it off site due to strict unreasonable rules. When we arrived the lodge was sleepy, the owner approached us when we pulled in questioning our reservation. The front desk lady was sweet but I could tell she was micro managed and under pressure to enforce ridiculous rules! One big inconvenient one was “NO ONE” is allowed to even swing by for a quick hello or drop off if they are not a guest! That’s insane! I was accused of trying to sneak guests in and having to prove what bed they were in! Even the children had to be assigned to a room! She kept calling my phone and each time I had to explain guests arrivals and who was driving. We never once over occupied any rooms! I had the 1100 sf room for myself my hubby and 11 year old and when my cousin that drove all the way from California showed up to sleep on the old clapped out hide bed she tried charging me an extra adult fee! So a room that sleeps 4 can’t have 4 people stay in it? It made zero sense!
They purposely over watered the lawn in front of the room so we couldn’t use it! They ran the sprinklers 24/7 (no joke). It was a swamp!
Breakfast was disappointing! Costco muffins, bananas, cookies and a few other snack style. The hot tubs were nasty and the store onsite was limited and food was dusty!response / report this review -

My oldest and dearest friend moved to Kentucky quite a few years ago. She hasn’t been able to see her kids and grandkids too much since she moved, so she decided to plan a vacation so she could see her family. She started planning for this vacation ahead of time and reserved a room at the lodge. The lodge had beautiful pictures look like a dream come true. When she finally got to the lodge, she was told that she couldn’t have the room she reserved. My friend took that in stride. She also was told that her grandkids were not welcome in the property to visit my friend. I believe the website stated 13 years old and younger stay free. After all that, the owner preceded to offer a refund to my friend because she was no longer welcome. Places like this should be in business. This didn’t ruin her vacation, she stayed at another hotel and got to visit all her family. I wouldn’t stay here, the expense isn’t worth the lack of customer care.
Oh and to the owner: instead of making excuses for your behavior, like you did to the other review, maybe apologize. Just a tip.response / report this review -

Quiet, relaxing retreat location. Love the views of the lake and mountains! The staff are very friendly and helpful and with 3 visits so far, we haven't had any noise issues. Rooms are clean and the fireplaces are cozy!
