I went to Lady and Sons on 12/10/2017 for lunch. I got the buffet and unfortunately have to say the food lacked the flavor I was expecting. Every thing seemed bland. Nothing special at all. My total bill was $21.21 and it was not worth it. Maybe $10 at most. The service was good though.

The best part was the sweet tea it was perfect. If this was my restaurant I would be in there every single day making sure things were done right.
It’s a shame that the food is that way. I don’t recommend this place.

We have come to Savannah three times for our industry convention. We go to The Lady and Sons no less than two times during our 4 day stay. I start dreaming of the fried chicken and collard greens weeks before we get here! The ambiance is quaint and I appreciate that — no need for upscale decor here as it’s all about the food!!! We love this place!! The buffet is our first choice, BTW!

My family and I went on Thanksgiving. Despite a 5:30 reservation we did not get seated until just after 6:30. Yes, they were swamped, but they said the reservation only gets you a place on the waiting list at the time allotted. SERIOUSLY? That is not what reservation means. After the hour wait, with no place to sit, we had the Buffet. That was the only option and it was $25 per person which did not even include a drink such as tea, that was extra. The food quality was marginal and overall much less than expected. The cleanliness of the facility was also less than expected for the name. There are numerous places to eat within walking distance of Paula's and I would recommend another choice.

Very good! Not sure how some reviews recommend going to a Golden Corral vs here! The buffet has a smaller yet more simpler selection. The food was always warm and brought out as soon as a pan was empty. Location is a quaint small building so seating does seem to be limited. My husband and I loved the food, especially the macaroni and cheese! The adjacent store has a nice touch of some items from Paula's line. Overall a really fun experience!!

My first impression of walking by this place was "I better not get my hopes up." The buffet looked small
The salad bar looked unappetizing. After looking over the menu, I decided I would try the buffet. The evening I went, the buffet included fried chicken, pot roast, shrimp creole, along with out southern favorites, green beans, corn bread, mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, etc. Every bite of food was amazing. It totally exceeded expectations. The fried chicken was light and flavorful. The Mac and cheese was very tasty. I was impressed by all the food. For dessert I had the peach cobbler and let me tell you, you could start a war over this. It melted in your mouth. For the reasonable price of the meal (the buffet was $18) the food was so delicious. There are many places to eat in downtown Savannah, and this place is worth your time.

I guess I was expecting something a bit more upscale - nicer atmosphere - better food. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't what I expected. The food was okay and the prices for a tourist place weren't bad. It's near a parking garage so parking wasn't bad. It was a bit loud in there. The service was okay. I liked the fact that the fried chicken was available as a side item because I didn't order the fried chicken but I wanted to try it. I liked the gift shop next to the restaurant - we bought a nice smelling candle there.

Service was excellent. The food was amazing. Had a 5 o'clock reservation, arrived early and was seated promptly.
I know the website says street parking but ended up having to walk 8 blocks to eat is a little much even for this fat guy😎

We were reluctant to go..with all the press Mrs Dean has had. But we sucked it up and went. BEST BUFFET EVER! Our waitress was the sweetest southern mamashe treated us like family. THE SWEET TEA WITH THE FRESH MINT LEAF .so refreshing. No need to complain about the wait, it was worth it. There are two buffets and the option to order from the menu. Desserts are limited to banana pudding, butter cake and blueberry somethingeveryone was getting it to go. You are too full to eat it. Definitely a must when visiting Savannah,Ga.

The sweet tea is the best I've had. Our server Tymon was very kind and attentive to myself, my mom and my daughter. We loved the buffet. We had high expectations for our first visit, especially after a near 2 hour ride, and everything exceeded our hopes.
Paula Dean, your recipes do not disappoint! We loved it all.
The green beans, Cole slaw and fried chicken were on point and the mashed potatoes had the perfect salt to creamy/lumpy texture. 💕There are no words for the 💗Mac n cheese💜.man o man.😍
Nothing needed sauce or salt or even pepper. -to be honest, we are a picky group and we didn't have a single complaint on anything!
Can't wait to come back!

Awful. Service was friendly and attentive - and seem to be used to responding to less than satisfied diners. Feels like a glorified Golden Corral all-you-can-eat place. But Golden Corral actually has better food - truly. Fried chicken all piled on top of each other on a buffet so it is soggy and awful. Pork chops in some kind of coagulated nasty sauce. Really? This was some kind of iconic American chef? Use your $18 and go to any of a number of other fun, good and interesting restaurants in the city. If the tourists enjoy it, okay. But could never recommend it to anyone.

Get a reservation online ahead of time and you will have no problem. Wife and I got the Southern buffet and we were not in the least bit disappointed. My wife does not like eating chicken still on the bone and she ate 2 pieces! Some of the best fried chicken we have ever had. Collards were great, black Eyed Peas had great flavor, but whatever rice she had on the buffet that day was out of this world.

Even with a reservation there was still a 30 minute wait for our table. The server was amazing. The food was average. I was expecting so much more from this restaurant. Had to return my shrimp appetizer because it tasted as if the entire container of salt had been poured into it and on the bread that came with it. The waiter did have it remade with a lot less salt. Again the waiter was amazing but in no hurry to return.

From walking in to seeing the hostess that was rude, we had reservations at 1:00 got there about 20 till had to wait till 1:20 to get a table. The hostess, the girl that sit us and lord our waiter was rude. There was no down home feeling, our waiter set down my husband tea and it spilled all over the table splashed my husband and there was no apology. Then we ask for salt& pepper he brought it when we were half way done eating, ask for more biscuits he said we had to wait on them. The buffet was in the middle were anyone and everyone walked by. I was disappointed at the service and the rudeness they all had. The food was okay nothing I couldn't fix. We were very disappointed. Paula needs to be around at little more to see how the place is being run. Will not go back.

Our experience at Paula Dean's Restaurant was awesome. The service was five star and the food was 5 star plus. My Sister loves Paula,so for her birthday I surprised her with a trip to the restaurant. She has never been the same. Thank you for making our trip and her birthday grand. N.C will be back!!!

I came to Lady and Sons for my father's birthday and it did not disappoint! We had a 12:15 reservation on a Sunday and arrived just before the crowd came. My parents had the buffet which was an assortment of classic southern comfort food; collard greens, mac and cheese, pork chops and my parents favorite, cabbage. I ordered the crab cakes from the menu, with grits, and a side of coleslaw. Everything was warm, fresh and made with perfection. The highlight was the service our server Tony gave us. He was courteous, speedy and an overall nice guy! Prior to my arrival I did not know what to expect, as I have heard mixed reviews, but I am very pleased and happy to have dined at The Lady and Sons!
