  My first pair of eyeglasses - bifocals. The technicians performing the initial exam were ok but there were some problems checking eye pressure where the device came too close the eye causing me to reflexively jerk away to avoid being poked. No worries. The dr did the pressure check fine without poking me. Fast forward to picking up my bifocals today. The frame color is purple and I remember selecting a pink/rose color. No worries just cosmetic. The problem is that the glasses just slide down my nose constantly. It didn’t seem like the opticians had time to spend with me checking that the glasses were adjusted correctly but at least I wasn’t invisible to them like I was to the customer who tried to cut in front of me. Overall 2.5 stars. I can’t decide whether I’ll be back or not. It seemed pleasant and professional but final outcome was glasses that are supposed to last a year but are not right from day one.

  The staff here is very pleasant, but the wait times are usually lengthy. I had cataract surgery in both eyes with Dr. Robert Weinstock (the younger). My eyes were also lasered to rid them of the clouding that occurs following cataract surgery. Since this time, my eyes always have a significant number very irritating floaters and are blurry much of the time. Some of the floaters are like clouds drifting across my eyes, some are black dots and once in a while there are flashing white lights. Some days, I constantly have to blink, blink, blink to clear them - quite scary, especially when I'm trying to drive! I've been told by Dr. Weinstock that there is nothing he can do. Its been nearly 2 years and my vision is a constant source of angst.

  With my husbands new job he had the opportunity to get vision insurance which means his first new pair of glasses in three years! We went to The eye institute for his eye exam. His insurance covered $150 and all of their glasses were well over $200. Being young newlyweds we simply cannot afford that as much as we'd like to! When we had to leave, we asked for his PD number so that we could order some less expensive online through an affordable website many of our family and friends have used for years. She refused to give it to us saying, "we can't do that" and "don't buy glasses online". Needless to say we will not be going back to the eye institute. It's either my husband gets glasses or he doesn't and considering they are being held together by superglue, we're going with the glasses option!

  The office people were all great. My second surgery however was not a pleasant experience. The anesthetist was rude and uncaring about my feelings. I was not comfortable and she refused to give me more medication. I was wide awake for the whole procedure and scared to death. I made it very clear that I was not comfortable and no one seemed to care. I felt like i was on an assembly line and they just wanted to get me through as quickly as possible. M y first surgery was so much less scary and I felt they were much more caring about what I was going through and how I felt. Through the whole process I spent a total of 3 minutes with Dr. Weinstock. No one wants to feel like they are rushed through any surgical process.

  I have nothing but good things to say about my experience. My main contact was Heather, who was extremely helpful. Everyone I had contact with at The Eye Institute was pleasant, courteous, and professional. I am extremely pleased with the results of my cataract surgery, which was performed by Dr. Desai. I would unhesitatingly recommend The Eye Institute of West Florida.

  I have been a patient of the Eye Institute, for in excess of 15 years, for my routine eye needs. Recently, I had another issue that needed attention. I was referred to Dr. Mohadjer, by my primary care eye doctor, Dr. Mary Lou Smith. I had surgeries on both eyelids in November and a lesser procedure in April. I could not have had a better or more pleasant experience. Dr. Mohadjer and all of the Institute staff were, as they always are, very professional and consummately compassionate.

  Wish I could give more than 5 stars! From my first experience with the Eye Institute of West Florida, it has been stellar. Dr. Kirsch is one of the most amazing doctors I have ever been fortunate to call my doctor. His staff is of equal caliber. Today's visit, I had the distinct pleasure of having a wonderful conversation with Tina, who is an excellent new addition to the staff.
  
  But Andre, in your billing department, is an amazing gentleman. His kindness and compassion knows no bounds and I knew I was more than just a checkbook. As someone with a high deductible insurance plan, payment arrangements are necessary. Andre went over and above in helping me with this payment situation and I will always be grateful for his kindness and thoughtfulness.
  
  The Eye Institute of West Florida is, hands down, the best care you can give your eyes!!!! And Dr. Kirsch rocks! :)
