I cannot sing the praises of the Dodo any louder. This place is hip, beautiful inside and the servers are on point. But even if you took away all of the atmosphere you would be left with some of the best food I have had in all of salt lake city. And if you look at my list of places visited, that is saying a lot. Their food is fresh, inventive and just phenomenal. While yes, it is a pricier place to go. After you see the portions and taste their food you understand why. This place doesn't paint itself perfect to hike their prices, they have their food to back them up. If you are looking for a place that has a great atmosphere, great food, great dessert and great service. Go to the Dodo. You will not regret it one bit.

I go there almost every Sunday for brunch with friends. The food is outrageously good and addicting! I always bring home some of their homemade bran muffins and butter they serve for breakfast, to have at home with my coffee throughout the week. The atmosphere is quaint, warm, and welcoming. Everyone is always happy there with a positive vibe!

It's been awhile since I've had a brunch that was so good. There was a bit of a wait on Sunday morning, but it was worth it with how fresh the food was. The cocktails were tasty, and food was plentiful Half of us needed boxes. We're definitely coming back because there are so many things we want to try!

This place is great! I went with my family 2 weeks ago and we had a really nice time. The food was fabulous. The deserts are huge! The place was clean and appealing, our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. My only slight gripe was that it was loud inside, but I know that type of atmosphere is trendy, so I don't hold it against the establishment. I definitely will be back.

Atmosphere was great! Food was delicious, but the desert (not pictured, sorry!) Was absolutely TO DIE FOR!! Our waitress was so cute and friendly ❤ it's a little pricier, but we will definitely be returning.
Also, the bathrooms were super trendy and very clean!

This place was EXCELLENT! Met all of my expectations as I had hoped from reading the reviews. We even came back a second time, literally just for the banana cream cheese pie. Flavorful dishes, and friendly staff. Definitely make a stop here if you are visiting from out of town.

Great food, good service. Good menu, everything sounded delicious. Great place for Saturday brunch. Price was fair, for the area, and quality of the food. Slightly snooty clientele, but we weren't treated any different by staff for looking less well dressed.

    Great visit.

I ordered Mexican seafood chowder to start and it was great. Then I had the steak salad and it was pretty good. I ordered a blueberry cream cheese pie, and my eyes started to water with tears of joy. This pie tasted like a marriage proposal, or repentance, or magic. I can't say it was good, or even great. Those are flat words compared to how I feel. I'm sure I'm a different person because of it. Thank you, Dodo.

Excellent food, excellent service, excellent ambiance!! We went for lunch, there was no wait, even though the parking lot was full. We ordered and shared a beautiful oven roasted salmon with rice and steamed veggies, kinda boring but extremely tasty! Our server was very friendly and attentive. Definitely a return destination!
Be aware that you may have some difficulty finding parking.

The food was superb and the service was even better. BUT it is super noisy in here. Wouldn't recommend for a business meeting or anything that requires thinking.

Best food ever! the wait can be pretty long though so make sure you get there before 6:00 or after 9:00 otherwise you are going to have to wait for sometime. The food is really good and make sure you save room for the dessert. That is what they are known for.

Not sure how I haven't written this review already, since I've been to the Dodo many times. I would give this place 4.5 stars overall (the .5 being for the awesome desserts) but the service has not been totally on par every time I've been there, so I'm rounding down.

The Dodo is a pretty happening spot in Salt Lake City. It's one of the more moderately upscale restaurants in the area and seems to always be busy.

The food itself is usually excellent. I particularly love the cheese plate to start and every entree I've had here has always been pretty good.

The desserts, however, are where this place truly excels, and I know desserts fairly well. Pretty much every option is good. The Tollhouse pie is their signature dessert -- think melted cookie dough in pie form. Really good. The raspberry chocolate mousse pie is excellent as well. You really can't go wrong with a dessert from here.

Prices are a tad higher than the average meal in Salt Lake, but not astronomical.

    Favorite breakfast spot!
My friends and have made it a mission to try breakfast everywhere in Salt Lake, and the Dodo is hard to beat. Great drinks. Great coffee. Great food. Great service. Great summer patio. Wait is short or non-existent.
The only bummer is that they aren't open for breakfast during the week.

Solid dinner option with some great menu items. Excellent desserts and non- typical pie offerings ( try the coffee cake and the blueberry sour cream pie). Semi-trendy vibe without being obnoxious.

Limited menu can make repeat dining somewhat boring and predictable after the first few visits.

Parking fills up early but it's Sugarhouse-traffic comes with the locale.

They accept phone reservations so call ahead as you start your drive so you'll have a table ready and waiting when you get there. Barring this trick, you're likely to wait upwards of 30 minutes on a weekend to get a table.

Give the Dodo a try. You'll have the added bonus of wondering why the heck Sizzler's parking lot is full as you leave the place.
