The Dallas World Aquarium is an amazing place and a must visit if you like aquariums or zoos. It contains a nice mixture of aquatic life, plants and animals. Exhibits include fresh and ocean fish along with monkeys, birds, insects, alligators, penguins and much more.
My favorite part is how the exhibits are integrated into the surroundings giving a very natural feel. Combine that with the foliage and rockwork and you feel like you're in the jungle.
Expect to spend 2 hours here. Maybe slightly longer.

The place is HUGE and you feel like you’re in the jungle/rainforest/ocean etc as you walk through the different exhibits and see all the various creatures. Very beautiful . The reason i am giving it 3 stars is because i would say about 1/3 of the animals were not in the exhibits . I passed by a lot of empty ones. Also it would’ve been nice if it was more interactive . Went to Austin aquarium which is not even a quarter the size of this one and honestly had a better time there. We got to feed the sting rays , sharks , and go in several bird exhibits and let the birds fly to us. . All in all i had a good time here and it was a perfect place to get some great photos and share with your friends and family

I love this place, I've been there twice this year. It has a great mix of aquatic, land, and avian creature to look at learn about. Kids love the place, and it's highly entertaining for adults as well. 5/5, would recommend to anyone! There's parking near by along the back side, $8.

Today is my daughter's second birthday and she really enjoyed seeing the animals, birds, reptiles and fish. This was her first experience around such a varied assortment of wildlife, and she had a blast pointing out the different sights and asking what all the sounds were that the birds were making. I'm definitely not going to wait until her next birthday to return!

I was there this weekend, this place was AMAZING! My family enjoyed, we had so much fun. There's so many different animals to see. Luis Hercules a worker from the aquarium was so helpful and courteous! He was a very nice guy, he explained to our family how the tour was going to start, and later on he helped us find the penguins. Very friendly gentlemen. I would definitely recommend anyone to take your family for a fun time at the Dallas Aquarium!!!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Visited here from our if town at a friends suggestion. We had a great time, the way it is set up you start at the top of the ecosystem in the trees and circle down to the bottom of the water. Although it is advertised as an aquarium it has so much more to see, birds, monkeys and my favorite was the sloths. They have a 3 toward sloth that is out in the open where you can see it without glass.
We also ate at the restaurant at the 3rd floor right off the elevator and it was wonderful, low prices, great service. The taco salad was great.

So much fun. I'm a member and go several times a year. The manatee is so cute and has a big log as a toy. If you come early you can see the three toed sloth getting fed before climbing up to nap. Sometimes the two toed sloth couple bicker. Good mix of animals and fish. New experiences each time I go. :)

I'm not really one for animals in captivity for human entertainment. That being said, this place is set up well and the animals have space. I did feel horribly for the river otters.they were barking and displaying territorial behaviors and were highly stressed. The black panther appeared to have very little space for an animal this size, you could see his pace patterns. I'm hoping he has a bigger enclosure I couldn't see. I felt the sloths may have needed a little more space or hiding areas. They appeared stressed too. I felt similarly, I do not enjoy huge presses of humans either. Other than these things, this was a fascinating place. The restaurants had reasonable pricing and the gift shop as well. I ended up getting an awesome passenger sticker in the shape of a sloth peering out of the car window. Entertaining. My favorite creatures were the shoe bill stork, manatee, anaconda and the saw fish.

I don't even know where to begin with this place. It's amazing and has so much to see. It's huge, full of animals of all sorts. It isn't just water animals either. This place can be very crowded and busy, as it's popular with travelers and locals, but it's really always a treat to see the animals here as well as the layout. The staff here do a really great job of taking care of the place. I would recommend going during a time when it isn't busy. I made the mistake of going in the summer, when it was VERY busy, but still had a great time. Would definitely go here again on a visit to Dallas.

This is my favorite aquarium in Texas. Absolutely amazing. I have been visiting several times a year for a decade. They always have new exhibits. The staff is knowledgeable. The animals are well cared for. It is handicap and stroller accessible. A wonderful place to visit for everyone of every age.

This place is probably better described as a small zoo or an aviary with aquariums here and there. If you're expecting to just see fish, you may be disappointed. The exhibits are beautiful, and there are several levels, which makes them even more interesting. Tips for travelers: arrive early as it gets crowded fast. When it's crowded, you won't be able to see in the exhibits because the walkways are narrow and people stand in the way. My kids had a good time as we got there about 10am on a Sat. However, by the time we got down to the shark tunnel, there were people just sitting along the sides, making the walkway very crowded. We had to just walk through, which was a bit disappointing. Sorry, but I think that's just rude to sit in front of a tank, especially when little kids are trying to see. Take a look or 2, then MOVE ON! The aquarium really should decrease its max capacity or consider doing timed admission tickets to avoid this and allow their patrons (who are paying upwards of $50 for 1 adult and 2 kids) to enjoy all of the exhibits. I also don't recommend strollers. The walkways are narrow, so if there is even a moderate crowd, it will be hard to navigate around. We ate at Cafe Maya, 1 floor up from the entrance. The grossest Mexican food I've ever had in my life. I do not recommend eating there unless you want cold greasy food with no flavor. The aquarium is a must if you can get there early. Just don't eat at the cafe.

A great experience, especially if you have kids and even for a fun and friendly couples day out. Huge array of marine life and knowledge to learn about and explore. The underwater walkway tunnel is an amazing experience and worth the price of admission alone. I've been here twice and enjoyed every minute of it. Highly recommended.

I have been raving about this aquarium ever since I got back from Dallas. I was so impressed and totally enjoyed my time here! I love that it was a lot more than just fish and sea animals, there were sloths, owls, monkeys, and more. There was an Aztec show that was entertaining as well. It was really worth the $20 admission fee. I can't wait to go back next time I am in town!

I went on Easter with my wife, son, mother and grandmother to enjoy a day out. The Aquarium was much larger than I expected it to be and it provided more than just underwater scenes. Specifically in the main area you get to see the same scene from the canopy, to water level and finally underwater. Most habitats seemed to be very open and roomy, some seemed a bit small. A species of primate get a completely open air habitat in the center of the main are, watching them roam freely around. Some habitats were oddly placed, like a large red monkey caged area above a cafe where best visibility seemed to be from under a canopy where a Sloth was free to roam.

Despite all that, everyone was nice, the sites were great. My son (2) had an amazing time seeing all the animals and we couldn't have been happier.

Do yourself a favor and either plan to come here early on the weekends or come on a weekday. You WILL be in large crowds of visitors if you don't heed this warning. It's a huge place, full of small and large exhibits. If you have kids with animal interests or even a keen curiosity, this is perfect, and you can spend the better part helping your kids learn about animals they would otherwise never see in their lifetime in most cases. Couple of food spots indoors, a little on the higher price side but not too bad. Just come and expect to spend some good hours in here going around and up and down. Plenty of parking right across the street. Paid of course as it's downtown. Love this place!
