Really great restaurant! I ate breakfast here and Got the bowl of pastries. They were to die for! Warm and sweet but not too sweet. The blueberry component ( on the side) was delicious too! My americano was smooth And made perfectly! Will come here again.
I used to be a huge fan of The Daily. It was one of my favorite restaurants in Richmond. Though, the past 8-10 times or so I’ve gone here (in hopes of things getting better) the service and food has been very inconsistent. My favorite thing to order was the fig & beet salad. It was at one point my favorite salad in Richmond. The first few times I had it it was wonderful! There were an abundance of beets, figs, pistachios and goat cheese. Now though, I order it and it’s about 4 beets or so with a pinch of cheese and a couple figs. It depends on who’s making it. I’ve had to order more cheese every time I go and it is an up-charge. Now, I don’t think the salad is worth the price anymore. They have wonderful servers, you just have to get lucky to get one that is attentive and pays attention. We always have better luck sitting at the bar.
Our server was amazing, super friendly and very attentive to our needs. The drink selection is diverse and should please just about any pallette. Happy hour boasts some crazy good deals and the menu should cater to just about anything taste. Almost all items have the option of being vegan or gluten free for those who have dietary restrictions. The environment is very aesthetically pleasing and modern-feeling, and we felt welcome from the moment we walked in. Will definitely be back!
First visit to any of The Daily with this Cary St location. Like the openness of the restaurant. I had the portobello bowl that I asked for a change from the menu. They happily accommodated and I happily ate every last morsel of my bowl. Friends had burgers and fries. Fries are good with sea salt. Negatives: restaurant is very cold and there were bothersome flies inside ~ will return but to the patio.
The catch of the day was amazing and they cooked the asparagus and potatoes to a delicious char. They have a good list of signature drinks and I enjoyed their triplet ginger ale with bourbon and candied pieces of ginger. The barbecue duck pizza was interesting with delicious pieces of goat cheese. Everything is fresh and light. You won't need a nap afterwards. Go for it.
From the street this place had a great look. From inside it had a good feel. From the bar it was okay. We had a few beverages with some light apps. The service is solid, the food is also in the same realm. I was a tad turned off by the warmth inside the joint and the related oder and fruit flies. It was a tad stale. It might have just been that evening. Overall it was fine.
Great artisonal cocktails and an extensive, delicious menu. All menu items note whether they are gluten free, paleo, vegan or whether you can request that option. So there is literally something delicious for anyone in your group to eat no matter what their dietary issues are. From crunchy chickpeas, vegan or squid calamari (gluten free no less!), to sweet potato fries or crispy Brussels sprouts, the menu has 'normal' and exotic to suit every taste. It is usually busy but I have never had to wait more than 15-20 minutes for a table. Friendly, helpful staff round out the awesomeness of The Daily.

Wonderful food. Service is excellent. Very creative menu with nice sized portions. Love the outdoor dining area. Very attractive well. Especially the deserts are delicious.
The Daily is a great place to go with a group, because there is a lot of variety. There are tons of vegan and vegetarian option. I have loved all of the various vegan things I've tried. It is busy, so expect a wait. The food is healthy and fresh. The staff if friendly too. The prices are on the mid-high range, but it is worth it for what you get. I've only had positive experiences!
Five stars for the food and cocktails, fantastic vegan options. This will definitely be a regular stop when visiting RVA. Service, however, was slow at best. Polite, but really slow. It was New year's day, so they may have been understaffed. Can't wait to eat here again!
I like the vibe and I can always get good food here. None of it blows my mind, but it's all tasty. Their happy hour is nice too!
Had a late breakfast at the Daily today with my son. Sat at the bar as there was a twenty minute table wait. Good menu selection, excellent hot food, perfect Bloody Mary. Service was good without being hovering. Friendly but professional staff. Restaurant was lively but decimal level made for a pleasant experience - easy parking too!
Very good food and service. Lots of healthy options. Though I would have liked to see even more organic options there is still a good amount. The menu is diverse and is balanced between vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes. Very good dessert options as well. Good decor and vibe. Good for casual meals with friends or dates. They take reservations and was very busy on a Sunday night.
The Daily is located within walking distance of some great shops and many other restaurants. It had the kind of vibe we were looking for while visiting Richmond. The dinner menu had some great entrees and sides. The cocktails and beer selection were great too! The only thing that was missing was dessert! The bartender was nice and when we asked for the check it came and was processed very quickly! The bathrooms were clean.
