The food here is very unique and tasty. The servers are friendly, but based on staffing always seem overwhelmed and your table can go unattended. They have live music but you have to buy tickets for that. The do not offer military discount.
The crimson moon has been in business for quite a number of years. Excellent atmosphere and a chill vibe. Best coffee around and probably the best chai I've ever tasted. Live music and wonderful food.
If you are looking for a good restaurant with some local up and coming musical talent as well as some well established musicians all combined with a close and intimate feel where the staff are friendly and accommodating, this is the place to go! Wonderful place to sit and relax on the front porch while enjoying an amazing BLT sandwich for lunch or their award winning dip appetizer before a delicious dinner while looking out over the Dahlonega square! Or, if you simply want a delicious cup of coffee so you can sit in the "Back Room Bar" and enjoy a book or friendly conversation on the couch, this is the spot! I would highly recommend The Crimson Moon.
Flew in from Texas JUST to visit the Crimson Moon, when Emily Saliers was playing there last month. AMAZING VENUE! Super friendly staff, great food and beer, and if live music is your thing, the Moon is your place! Not a bad seat in the house. Wherever you sit, you are just feet from the performer. We had a WONDERFUL time and will definitely be back again.
Very good staff! They have delicious food and good artist that sing live. I always ask for my favorite waitress Katie!
Breakfast is really good. Only issue is the "Thick" cut bacon. Menu says that but mine was thinking as paper. I asked and waitress said they were having issues with supplier.
Either take it off menu, don't call it "Thick" cut, or give more than just (2) slices for over $3.50
We planned to pass through Dahlonega and a friend recommended the Crimson moon. It happened to be Tuesday and it was their off-day. We came back on Thursday and had a delicious lunch. I had the French dip which was absolutely delicious and my wife had the grilled cheese. One of the cooks stopped by and talked with us and our kids. We both also added specialty lattes for the road which were also delicious! We will absolutely be back in the future!
So delicious!! Lots of wonderful musicians! Wait staff are great and very thoughtful regarding my little ones needs. Love love this place!!
Took forever to be seated first off. Also, my girlfriend and I order very simple meals, and yet it took over 40 minutes to come out. One positive thing I left with is a coffee on the house.
Went on 11/7/2016. Was the worse place I have ever been to in all of Dahlonega! They say on the website that they close at 8 p.m., On the Menu it says 9 p.m., However we got there at 5:40 and they closed the doors at 6:00 p.m. The server even turned away a huge group of people that came into the door around 6:05. The girl who was supposed to be our server was pissed that we didn't order alcohol after asking to see a drink menu. She was more interested in leaving than doing even 10% of her job. The food was horrible. My husband and I literally left over half our food there. I have been told you have to pick the right thing on the right night for it to be edible and they were right! We had burgers and fries and the fries were able to be eaten. However, the burger had clumps of seasoning inside, Large clumps! The atmosphere would be very nice if it was clean or the server was nice at all. The one other person we saw there was a man that looked like the bartender and he was great! Nice and courteous and you could tell he was actually interested in making sure you were having a good time and enjoyed it. To bad he only came out of the back once or this review would be much different. I will never go back here again! We should have listened to everyone we have talked to about eating here and stayed far far away.
Chicken and dumpling soup is phenomenal. Pickle Fries also very tasty. Meatloaf sandwich nothing to write home about. Exceptionally slow service. 15 minute wait for check. Food delivery was also very slow. Restaurant was almost empty.
I was excited at first glance of the menu but beware!!! I went to the crimson moon cafe on 8/13/16 for a special lunch with a friend. Our waiter seemed fine at first, even though he took longer than should be expected to seat our party of two, especially considering the lack of patrons in the cafe. After being seated and placing our drink orders our waiter vanished for approximately fifteen minutes before finally delivering our drinks and taking orders. Again, the waiter took a very long time to bring out our food, about thirty minutes, and not once checked in to see how we were doing or if we needed refills. After our food arrived is when the real mess begins. The burger was overcooked, not to the order of medium rare, and our other entree was missing an entire side. We never received our side because the waiter never came back to check in on us. After requesting our check we received the wrong bill and had to wait another fifteen or so minutes to receive the right check. I wanted to complain but felt so frustrated at the whole experience and the poor quality of food that we just paid and left. If you’re looking for quality food and service just take this warning and go elsewhere.
