Went here about two weeks ago to enjoy the Sampler platter for 4 with my husband and two children. He had recently came down with a few of his football buddies during warmer weather and gave the place such a great review I had to see for myself. The outside environment is straight out of a magazine the view is gorgeous on a good day, I can only imagine how lovely it is during warmer weather. I walked to the host stand with my children while my husband tried to find a park that wasn't in a hole in the parking lot. The hosts were very rude, they saw us coming and assumed it was only three of us so they decided to walk off ahead of us before I could tell them the correct number of seating we needed. I ran into an old college roommate of mine there being an Alumni of Armstrong Atlantic. She and her husband wanted to move over and sit with us. They were being waited on by a guy named Geno so he decided to take the whole table. He presented himself as a gentleman only to find out he was a complete pervert. I have a 14 year old daughter whom at first glance to some men (including Geno) who might foolishly think she is a bit older than she actually is. He treated her as if she was the one paying and I guess he didn't notice she switched seats from how uncomfortable he made him feel during the meal. He also flirted with my former roommate when her husband was not present and she notified me of how he glanced at my rear with a few of his buddies at the soda machine while I walked up the ramp to the bathroom. I can understand a man flirting and wanting to earn his tip, but this was a total violation of myself, my former classmate, and ,my child. My husband and his buddy wanted to kick his ass after finding out later from my daughter how uncomfortable he made her feel and that when refilling her cup he reached in front of her and the back of his hand touched her breasts. I'm disgusted with the crab shack and the men you guys choose to represent your establishment. I hope that this perve is never allowed to serve, or work in customer service again. From the looks of his eyes and arms, (being that I am a physician and have seen many patients come in with the same face and wounds to the arm that he has, he either is a cocaine addict or a disaster waiting to happen. We came in and spent all together 375 and whatever change. The food was great, the crab legs were a bit small but fair for the total price of the platter. The experience on the other hand has been a pain in the ass ever since. My daughter wears sweaters everywhere she goes now. She should be proud of her beauty. Also the bathrooms are disgusting.

It's got decent, fresh, crustaceans. That's all that be said for food quality. The staff are pleasant, of you like the 'dude-bro' crowd. The kitchen faire ismiddling.

The best you can say about the food is they generally won't serve suspicious shellfish.

But it's overpriced.

This is a place tourists come for a Jimmy B. -meets- swamp kind of casual. Christmas lights clash with overly loud jukebox music.

If you want daiquiri, crab and a gift shop to show you've been to Tybee Island, this is your place. Other than thatlook for where the locals go.

The Crab Shack was a great experience while exploring Tybee Island! If you are hungry and enjoy seafood, this is a great place to go. The amount of food you get is almost a ton and it tastes good. The only reason I will not give it a five star is because of the price, it is quite pricey, but you do get quality for that price. If you have the money, I recommend stopping here for lunch.

This place is a staple of Tybee. You pretty much have to go here, at least once. They don't do anything fried, everything is boiled or steamed. Really good low country boils, shrimp by the half pound, etc. Good food, funky fun outdoor atmosphere. This is not an upscale kinda place. If you're looking for 5 star dining, this ain't it. I have seen palmetto/water bugs, and they definitely have a few cays running around. If you're living the island life and want some good, fresh seafood, this is where it's at.

So much fun. Great food though they don't serve anything fried. Lots of parking and seats over 750 people (I asked). Indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor is like outdoor but screened off. It was chilly the night we went but they have radiators overhead that keep everyone toasty. The sampler platter is the way to go. It is huge! All broiled seafood here. Oh they have a live gator pond too. The kids will enjoy feeding them. Just don't lean over the rail too far or they'll be the gator food.

The food and the awesome waiter Justin were wonderful but the girl in the gift shop was more than rude. She interrupted my husband and I twice from looking at shirts to hang up more shirts. Out of the thousand..and I'm not exaggeratingshirts, I think the 5 she hung up could've waited. Then she continuously dug in boxes for more shirts at our feet at one point, while we were trying to look. Crab Shack you can say thank you to the girl working tonight in your gift shop because she cost you at least a $100 sale. We walked out without purchasing anything, which was aggravating because it was for my grandchildren!

Definitely get your money's worth on the king crab. The chicken salad sandwich was huge. Both were excellent. Second time getting raw oysters. No taste and pale looking again (thus the 4 stars). Great service.

Great place to chill, eat great seafood,(and nachos,,awesome nachos) and they have a full bar!!
Gift shop is attached to an exotic bird rescue room full of chatty,beautiful birds,,stop in and say hello to Michael! Do not forget the alligators that you can feed,,and be sure to give a nice behind the ear scratch to the many cats that call the property home. All rescues and all spayed or neutered. Eat inside or out in good weather with great views,,great music,,fun for all! Don't forget the key lime pie.😜

The Deviled Crab was absolutely DELICIOUS! Also, the Key Lime Pie was the best I've ever tasted (which is saying a lot because I am quite picky when it comes to desserts). The service was a tad bit slow, but the food and atmosphere definitely made up for it. Plus, there are cats, exotic birds, and baby alligators. What more could you want? Highly recommend!!!!

This place is so cool!! Delicious food, view of the water from the outdoor seating, amazingly fun decor, friendly and helpful staff!! I think all the dining is outside but, there was plenty of shade and I really hate being in the sun. There was shade fabric stretch across overhead. Some seats were in the sun and some under this fabric. There was a wonderful breeze blowing through all the time and a gorgeous view of the waterway and boats. The decorations are really interesting and there's fun music playing. I had a good time just waiting on the food! -which didn't take very long at all. My table shared low country boil and deviled crabs. Amazing!!! Very fresh and well seasoned. Even the corn was delicious. After we ate, we fed the alligators and took pictures with the various statues of alligators and a pirate turtle and other crazy characters. I realized at that point that the restaurant was packed!! The way the layout is, we never noticed while we were sitting down. I live 6 hours away in Knoxville and I'm already counting the days until I get to go back!!

If you want to experience fresh sea food come here to enjoy. Good quality of food at a good price. A total sea food lovers paradise. The only thumbs down to this place is that you have to register your phone number and wait till you are texted and called to have a seat. In that time you can roam around and go clicking the little crocodiles they have displayed for their guest or they have a beautiful lake connecting their restaurant side , just sit and relax in the deck.

The Crab Shack is a very unique restaurant on Tybee Island. We enjoyed seeing the baby alligators before going inside to eat. This place specializes in crab and the menu isn't extensive, which I appreciated and nothing here is fried. Everything we ordered seemed very fresh. Our waitress was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this restaurant when visiting Tybee.

Ate here while on a family trip, and absolutely loved it. We sat out side by the water and even got to see some dolphins swimming by. The food was amazing and came out very quickly. They also have a bird exhibit and a feed the alligator area for the kids. The overall environment of this place is truly one to be seen.

This awesome place has the best atmosphere and friendly staff. We ordered the low country boil, which is our favorite item on the menu. If you look up in the trees under the outside dining area, you will see birds in the trees. If you have toddlers, kids and children, you can keep them occupied with all the little hidden treasures to find including tiny alligators at the entrance of the restaurant. Not far off is a fun little boat parked close by with skeletons hanging inside. For the chilly times of the year, they do have heaters which really adds to the atmosphere. I topped off my seafood platter with a chocolate cake. It was sinfully delicious and warm on the inside. This is the most unique outdoor restaurant I have ever been to.

I was never a fan of crab until I had fresh crab! It was very good. My husband isn't much for seafood so he had a chicken sandwich. There were small bones in it. So that wasn't so great. But the seafood was amazing. My girls had a blast feeding the gators too! Will definitely go back because of the sea food.
