Visited this place while traveling for business. I ordered the 6oz specialty steak for the night which had a bourbon bacon jelly glaze on top with a loaded baked potato on the side. The steak was AMAZING! cooked the way I ordered, plated well and served perfectly. Our waiter was attentive and the front house manager did stop by to make sure everything was well with the meal. We went on a weeknight and there was no wait for our table. Menu has a great selection of non chop house items along with a great wine selection. Highly recommend this place.
We ate at the Chop House yesterday with friends to celebrate their engagement My pork chop was not done and it we had to keep asking for our waiter to come to the table. When he finally got there he took my plate with a half eaten pork chop back and had it cooked till done I thought there would be a Heath violation to put someone's food that had been eaten on a grill with other food??? The light was also out in the ladies room. The staff were gathered together laughing and whispering.
If you enjoy steak houses you'll love this place. I'm not a steak house person and I still love this place. It has a nice cozy feel. It is not too formal with a casual upscale sort of feel. The food is excellent. We started our meal with deviled eggs. Each was topped with a delicious piece of candied bacon that really complimented the egg. I had the grilled shrimp that were served over fetticini and were cooked perfectly and a side of broccoli. They have a nice variety of standard and interesting sides including sweet potato fries, pilaf and creamed spinach. We were celebrating a birthday and brought our own cake but they had some delicious homemade ice cream to go with it, along with a waiter who is a voice major and does a wonderful rendition of Happy Birthday. While the prices are not cheap, they seem reasonable for the quality of the food and service, which was also very good. They have a smaller menu with $11, $12 and $13 choices which seem to be bargains. My shrimp came off the $12 menu. They also a nice selection of wines and mixed drinks and a few craft beers, though none on tap. If you are looking for a nice, pleasant evening at a better than average restaurant, I think you'll enjoy the Chop House.
Nice family restaurant. Lots of families with kids there when we visited. Wife had to send back her prime rib as it was served cold. My rib eye steak was hot and delicious. Very friendly wait staff. Yummy deserts with home made ice-cream.
Our Server (Demetrius) was pleasant and seemed to know the menu well. We did have an issue with our food however. A piece of our spaghetti had a small gnat in it which more than likely fell in at some point after cooking. The manager came over and sincerely apologized offering our money back and a free desert. We accepted and didn't make to much of an issue of it as it could literally happen anywhere. The rest of the food was good though and well made. Will be back in the future.
Food was delicious, with excellent service and very reasonably priced menu for the quality of the product. I will definitely go back again when I am in Lexington again.
As many times I have dined at Chop House, I have never been disappointed. The food, service and ambiance make for a great dining experience. I ordered a selection from the lunch special menu. The trout was as good as any in town. I always have the cream spinich and a side house salad. The salad is not your run of the mill typical side salad. There are actually tomatoes, shredded carrots and other vegetables. The new champagne dressing is quite good. My friend ordered the ribeye. He commented the wellness was a perfect medium - and he is a chef. If you have not tried Chop House, try it. You won't be disappointed.
Great steaks and seafood! The servers are amazing Especially Mark! The Chop house is truly a comfortable and romantic place to eat at and really enjoy yourself.
Went to the Chop House last Friday for my husband's birthday. He ordered a NY Strip and I ordered a Rib Eye. My steak had to be the worst steak I have ever had. The texture was like TV dinner steak (mealy) and didn't even taste like a steak. My husband showed me all the gristle on his steak. This was the 1st time we both left part of a steak uneaten as it was so bad. The salad and baked potato fortunately were good so we didn't go home hungry. Really poor.
Traveling through Lexington, had a great meal and excellent service. Highly recommend!
I will recommend this place when you visit Lexington. My T Bone was awsome definitely a place to return if visiting again
Very good food and reasonably priced for the value of food you get. Will definitely be returning soon.
The Chop House offers a very upscale experience for super reasonable lunch prices. My family and I always go out of our way to stop by this Chop House when driving through Lexington. The restaurant is extremely elegant, however we have often showed up after a day of hiking in athletic clothing and been welcomed all the same. Lunch will stay easily under 10 dollars for a generous helping of delicious food. If Chili is their soup of the day then it is a must try!
Very good food for very reasonable prices. Nice atmosphere with a casual attitude. The service is great as well. Definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a nice meal! :)
