Love your store and we made many trips to Michigan from Florida and ALWAYS made a planned trip to Beulah for your full dinner at noon complete with cherry pie ala mode! My husband passed away and I haven't been able to travel "up north" as yet.however I continue to order your wonderful jams and jellies! Thank you for your beautiful restaurant, and, your wonderful hospitality!

The pie is excellent! You'll have no regrets ordering it and it goes well the Leelanau coffee they serve. I also recommend the cherry salsa with cherry burger. The burger itself doesn't taste like cherries but the salsa is wonderful. It has a deep and enjoyable flavor with light sweetness. My boyfriend also loved the fishwich (cod sandwich) too. The staff is friendly. It's also great place to buy souvenirs. All sorts of cherry products. All sorts of fun cherry decor all over the place.

My husband, son, and I ate here after a late afternoon swim at Sleeping Bear. Found this on Google maps, read the reviews, and took a chance. So glad we did! The hostess, Kay, was AMAZING (my son wanted me to make sure that we mentioned her by name). Our waitress, Alexis, was great, too. The complete dinner is a great deal--and their turkey meal was like eating at home on Thanksgiving. Also, I do NOT like cherry pie, and I had a piece. Warm, fresh, flaky crust - I could eat that pie all day. We don't get back to this part of the country often enough, but every time we do, we will be stopping here!

Service is warm and friendly. The fresh waffles for the breakfast buffet were good and the warm syrup is a nice touch. Bacon is perfectly crisp. Burger at lunch was good. Not a huge burger but just the right size for lunch. You can tell it is made with good, quality beef. Chicken salad was tasty.

Love this restaurant! A highlight stop anytime we drive north, the Cherry Hut is worth it's weight in cherries. For those who prefer to avoid sugar, ask for their no sugar added cherry jam. I'm my opinion, it's better than the sweetened stuff!

The only thing I enjoyed about this place was the pie. Our waitress barely acknowledged us and seemed eager to get us out the door. I also found a hair in my sandwich.

For the overall experience and amount of food, it was overpriced and I left disappointed.

These are the reasons why Upstate lives up to the Hype and actually, supersedes it:

1) They have the *best* Oyster Happy Hour in NYC (Tip: Get there by 5-5:30 pm and there is a minimal wait). The oysters are HUGE, like meal portions and so, so tasty. It makes you realize that other venues are skimping during their Oyster Happy Hours. I suggest using the fresh horseradish and shallot sauce.
2) The service is spectacular. From the hostess, bartender, to the cooks and staff. I questioned, "Are we in Manhattan still?" I don't think the word "kind" is ever on the top 10 list to describe Manhattan.
3) We also ordered the calamari/kale salad which was perfectly cooked and burst with flavors of fresh honey. It was a winner.
4) We then *had* to order the fettuccine w/ clams to see what the hoopla was about. It was *decadent*, nuanced, layered, flavorful and the pasta was al dente. I really liked that it was a small portion (a la French cuisine). It was full of butter, shallots (?), herbs and was so yummy. It must be tried. Now, would I order this when I go back? Probably not, because I only eat full on butter, decadent dishes once a month or so.
