amazing staff and comfortable setting. Its a relief to walk in with your pet knowing everybody has your attention. The doctors they're phenomenal I have no worries whatsoever I'll continue to go as long as their doors are open.

Have been with Manistee Vet for over 10 years, and the quality and flexibility of service is what keeps us coming back. We've had other vets from downstate who are all about upcharging (even if it is at the expense of the animal) and I have no doubt Manistee Vet's concern is the welfare of the pets in their care.
1) Dr Westheimer and has staff explain our pets health issues, and engage us as partners in the any and all decisions to be made.
2) Our pets are always treated with expert care and compassion.
3) From our stray cat's health needs to our puppy's diet, they are thorough and knowledgeable. (And when my 5 year old's hamster's tail was injured, they took the time to talk to her directly on the phone to let her know Mr. Whiskers would be ok.)
4) Appointments at the office are timely and well organized. The entry and exam rooms are clean, and staff are prepared (files, history, etc) Procedures are explained beforehand, as well as medication delivery and potential side-effects.
5) At times of difficult decisions, Dr Westheimer and his team understand it is an emotional time for us humans! We were very impressed with the team's professionalism (and emotional support) at the time of our dear old lab's passing.

Dr Brown is wonderful with our fur babies. If not for her we would of lost one of ours a few months ago.

I called the emergency number because my 3 1/2 lbs dog had been in labor for over 24 hours after first baby and I was told the first time 1200 b efor they would ever look at my dog , then I was told by the man that I would have to deliver the outher puppies and I might rip a leg or head off but it would be ok. Would never take my pet there again.

Brought my cats in to get fixed on Wednesday. A rude woman called me at noon asking if I planned on picking up my cats. I told her I had someone on the way and they would be there at 12:30, she said "okay" and hung up. My friend got there and there were no cars in the parking lot , no lights on, and all the doors were locked. she called the emergency number and the rude man that answered the phone told her to come back on Thursday to get them. 7:30 PM I get another phone call asking if I would be picking up my cats today because they were still outside the back door. I flipped out on this poor woman, she was very sweet and apologetic, she was under the impression that the woman that called me at noon had told me the cats were outside for my friend to pick up. I picked up my urine covered cats after they were outside for 8 hours, it was 45 degrees out, they hadn't eaten or drank anything in 24 hours and just had surgery. If I hadn't gotten the call at 7:30 they would have been outside all night and probably frozen to death or gotten an infection. Never again.

Sick dog for mths. No labs done on her. Took her to another vet after 5 mths of her being sick the labs that were done showed her values to be almost 5000. Normal was 100. She is getting help now someplace else.
