We were so thrilled when our children took us to the Celestial for our 40th anniversary. We had a fantastic view of the city in a glassed-in room, really nice! Our waiter was so welcoming and enthusiastic. However, he literally changed before our eyes when we did not order alcohol. When are all non-drinkers. We were actually cricized by this man for not ordering alcohol. After extremely slow and bad service it seemed that we were being punished. The food was better than average but not great. I realize that I should have spoken to the manger but I did not. I chose this forum instead.
We recently moved to Cincinnati and Celestial has become our go to restaurant whenever we have out of town company. We have been to Jeff Ruby's, Morton's, Ruth's Chris, and Precinct and Celestial matches up with any of them but when you add in the view it stands above all of them. The lounge is also very pleasant to have a before dinner or after dinner cocktail. 5 Stars for sure.
Couldn’t get in at Ruby’s and came here for a business dinner. Not sure I’d go back to another steakhouse in Cincinnati. The food was fantastic, and the view was spectacular. Our out-of-town guests (who’ve eaten most of the other places) commented how much they enjoyed it and planned to come back next time they are in town.
Rehearsal dinner for our daughter's upcoming wedding in a setting that offered beautiful views of the Queen City. The appetizers and dinner food was excellent. The wait staff was very friendly and accommodating. The overall setting was a great kick-off for what turned out to be a beautiful wedding weekend. Thanks to the groom's parents for selecting such a memorable venue for the rehearsal dinner and thanks to the Celestial staff for delivering such a nice evening!
First and foremost, it was so hot my friends and I were sweating through the entire dinner. They were out of my first, and second, beer choices, then they were out of my first meal choice. The service was incredibly slow, though the place was half-empty. The bartender didn't seem to want to be bothered. The view was great, the food was decent, even though the steak I ordered medium-rare was overcooked. I expect a much better experience for this kind of money, and I won't bother to go back.
This restaurant needs a major renovation badly. My boyfriend took me here for dinner because it was suppose to be romantic and beautiful view. This view was amazing, minus the dirty foggy windows.
I almost put my purse on the floor, thank goodness I didn't the carpet is old, dirty and needs to be replaced. My parents said its probably same carpet from the 90s.
The bar is very very outdated and rough, seating is broken, no cushion in the seats, carpet and flooring are very dated and dirty.
The service was the only reason for not giving it one star. We had a great server and the manager was attentive. Its just crazy to think you have this amazing location and you cant at least replace carpeting and furniture
Food was great, our server (Tim) was great and the view was wonderful. The downsides were: the interior needs some attention: carpet and paneling very worn in places and the temperature was incredibly hot. We arrived on a hot, summer day shortly after they opened and we almost left it was so uncomfortable. It was getting better by the time we left but wow. Hard to enjoy everything else when it feels like an oven. My suggestion: avoid hot, summer days or go after 7:30 p.m.
Deliciously prepared & presentation of food with an incomparable view of the queen city
We are regulars in the bar here. It's so good to see that Christoph return as the manager. We are looking forward to dinner and music even more now. The live jazz is great.
The gm was the worst I've ever seen. Service was garbage and there was mold on the floor. Every thing was dirty and sticky. Just terrible. In the men's restroom they have a framed review, the review talks about how bad the food and service was too
Great food, beer and fun family entertainment. My children had a great time singing while the patents had fun sampling the beer. It is a short walk from the aquarium too.
S L O W!!! Got there a little after 7, left at 10. That was without desert. At one point we hadn't seen our waiter for seemed like an hour so we went to the bar ourselves. Not big drinkers, but a visit from him (or at least a postcard from wherever he went) would have been nice. Good view, decent food (lukewarm when we finally got it) - you can do better elsewhere.
