The food is awesome! Waitstaff is so nice and helpful! Beautiful atmosphere! Owners are gracious! We couldn't have went to a better place to celebrate my Dad's birthday!

Great drink menu, friendly service, decent selection of entrees. Definitely recommend the patio as the inside of the building is very plain, but the the outdoor area is great. We saw a bald eagle fly over as we ate dinner. The food was excellent, and they had live music on a Saturday night.

I have enjoyed dinner here with a couple of friends, and also with larger groups. Service was great in each situation. Clean place; that's important to me. I love the fish dishes and many of my dinner companions think the steak is excellent. I have attended special events in the large banquet room, where small plates of appetizer and finger foods were offered. So good. There's a well-stocked bar. The atmosphere in the cozy dining areas is pleasant and I would say that this can be a romantic place, but it also is welcoming to casual diners like me. The prices are in line with the excellent quality of the food and drinks. Views from the "window room" are pretty. It's kind of out-of-way, but worth finding.

My wife Tracey and I live about 3 minutes from The Cabin, and we regard it as one of the true gems of this area. I've eaten at my share of nice restaurants over the years, and to find a restaurant of this caliber tucked into the countryside east of Mansfield when I moved here nearly 3 years ago was nothing short of remarkable.
Tracey and I eat here regularly, at least once every two weeks, so I have a particularly unique perspective on the place. I have also been in and around the food industry myself, which provides me with some added reflection.
Restaurants are about three things primarily: hospitality and service (staff), atmosphere, and the food itself. Given its location, and watching the ebb and flow of customer traffic, I know that staffing this restaurant is challenging work. There is no clear way to predict turnout on any given evening in the ways that urban restaurants enjoy. In spite of that challenge, we have found the service to be consistently top notch, which is no small feat. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal, but with a beautiful dash of class. The live music is first rate, perfect for the atmosphere, on the evenings when they have it.
As for the food, I find it to be consistently at or near the top of its class. Are there ever times when I find it less? Of course, but those are EXTREMELY rare events, and never less than "fair." No restaurant ever bats 100% -- I have had meals I would rank "fair" at much higher-end restaurants over the years as well. An elderly member of our family, who has lived on Florida's gulf coast for decades, said this year that he has never had a better scallop entree than the one that he had here at The Cabin. That's some pretty high praise. Whoever they have working their kitchen is absolutely first rate.
Their catering business is also second to none. My wife and I had them cater our wedding celebration, a crowd of about 120 people, earlier this summer. The food that they provided was exceptional, and received accolades during the entire evening.
So that's my two cents on The Cabin. Realizing that there were probably no reviews posted from folks who eat there quite regularly, I figured taking the time to write something up would be a helpful perspective. Are they perfect? Of course not. Are they consistently excellent, based on my personal and regular experience eating there? Yes, beyond any shadow of a doubt. And given my life experience with restaurants in their price-point, that gives them a solid 5 stars from me.response / report this review -

My boyfriend & I just took his granddaughter. The atmosphere was relaxed, very nice live dinner music, the food was wonderful! I had the Little Signature. It was perfectly cooked. Delicious! Good service also. Highly recommend

Awesome experience! This place has the best food in town. Wonderful staff, and amazing food. The Cabin makes you feel at home with the music and atmosphere. Highly recommend this place for a good affordable dinner.
